Clear Creek 14, Manvel 1

LEAGUE CITY – The Clear Creek Wildcats shut the door early on Manvel, capturing a victory on Friday at Mallory Field.

With 14 runs in the first three innings, the Wildcats left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

The ’Cats got a two-run single by Harrison Hill, a steal of home by Landon Etzel, and an RBI single by Stephen Garcia during the first inning to put four runs on the scoreboard. They followed in the second inning with a two-run double by Hill, an RBI single by Garcia, and a three-run home run by Austin Adams to make the score 11-0 after two innings.

Adams racked up three RBIs on two hits for Clear Creek, Hill had four RBIs, Etzel had three hits and score three runs.

Clear Springs 5, Alvin 2

LEAGUE CITY – Brandon Upton went 2-3 and hit a home run, sparking Chargers to a victory in seven innings over Alvin on Friday at Clear Springs.

He singled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Itchy Burts was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for Chargers. Burts allowed two earned runs, three hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Clements 10, Clear Springs 0

LEAGUE CITY – The Chargers lost to Clements on Thursday.

Reed Ballard took the loss for the Chargers, allowing nine runs in 31/3 innings, walking three and striking out three.

Lewisville Hebron 4, Clear Creek 2

LEAGUE CITY – The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead but were unable to hold on and lost to Lewisville Hebron on Friday.

Stephen Garcia boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate to pace the Wildcats. He singled in the second, fourth and sixth innings.

Pearland 12, Clear Falls 2

LEAGUE CITY – Clear Falls Knights lost to Pearland on Friday.

Chris Brandli had two hits and Josh Elvir scored a run and had an RBI for the Knights.

Bay Area Christian 4, Hitchcock 2

HITCHCOCK – The Hitchcock Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost to Bay Area Christian on Thursday.

The Bulldogs led until the eighth inning when Bay Area Christian worked its way back and took the lead on an RBI triple.

Kyle Cook racked up 14 strikeouts, allowed two earned runs, four hits and four walks over eight innings.

Clear Springs 5, Manvel 4

LEAGUE CITY – Clear Springs and Manvel traded the lead six times on Thursday, but Chargers ended up on top with the win.

The Chargers took the lead in the sixth inning when they scored on an RBI double by Tyrone Thomas off Cody Campbell, plating Reed Ballard.

Brandon Upton went a perfect 3-for-3 at the dish for Chargers. He singled in the first, third and fifth innings.

Brad Nolen got the win in relief for Chargers, pitching 2/3 of an inning.

Barbers Hill 3, Ball High 0

BAYTOWN – Simeon Williams allowed one hit, but the Ball Tornadoes still fell to Barbers Hill in seven innings on Thursday.

Baytown Sterling 9, Ball High 4

BAYTOWN – The Ball Tornadoes lost in six innings at Baytown Sterling on Thursday, despite outhitting Sterling five to one.

Jake Simon racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Tors when he homered in the fourth inning.

Hitchcock 15, Stafford 4

STAFFORD – The Hitchcock Bulldogs refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Stafford, recording a blowout victory on Thursday.

The game was decided quickly as the Bulldogs exerted their will early with 11 runs in the first three innings.

An RBI double by Dustin St. Clair, an RBI single by Hunter Thiem, a two-run single by T.J. Combs, an RBI single by Marquez Oliver, an RBI single by Michael Parker and an RBI single by Dustin during the first inning, and an RBI single by James Vineyard in the second inning supplied the early offense for Hitchcock.

The Bulldogs’ Parker was perfect at the dish, going 2-for-2.

Spring 4, Dickinson 1

SPRING – Spring scored three runs in the first inning and held on for the win.

Jesus Buendia took the loss for Dickinson, pitching six innings, walking five and striking out one.

Clear Springs 14, St. Thomas 3

LEAGUE CITY – The Chargers refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against St. Thomas, recording a victory on Friday.

The game was decided quickly as the Chargers exerted their will early with 14 runs in the first three innings.

An RBI double by Matt Currie, a sacrifice fly by Itchy Burts, and an RBI double by Jacob Ramirez accounted for the Chargers’ runs in the first inning.

An RBI single by Tyrone Thomas, a sacrifice fly by Brandon Upton, an RBI single by Burts, a walk by Tevin Dent, an RBI single by Reed Ballard, a sacrifice fly by Jacob Vasquez, and an error during the second inning helped Chargers add to their early lead.

La Porte 5, Clear Falls 4

LEAGUE CITY – The Clear Falls Knights led through the sixth inning, but a three-run seventh by La Porte ended the Knights’ hopes in a loss Friday.

Adam Prentice had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He tripled in the sixth inning and doubled in the second and ninth innings.
