Santa Fe 11, Ball High 1 (6)

SANTA FE — Haley Chavez went 4-for-4 with three triples and drove in five runs to lead the Lady Indians past the Lady Tors on Tuesday in District 24-4A play.

Alicia Owens went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and scored three times for Santa Fe. Lacey Smith went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Erin Palmer had a hit and drove in a run.

Shelbi Sunseri earned the win, allowing one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.

The win coupled with Pearland Dawson’s 12-10 loss to Goose Creek Memorial on Tuesday night puts Santa Fe and Dawson in a tie for first place in 24-4A with identical 9-2 records. The teams split the season series.

Doris Smith drove in a run for Ball High.


Clear Creek 5, Clear Falls 3

LEAGUE CITY — The Wildcats peppered the Knights with eight hits Tuesday en route to a District 24-5A win.

Katy Sawyer and Madison Wadyka each had two hits and one RBI for Clear Creek, Riley Bullen doubled and drove in a run, and Brittney Wingate had a hit and one RBI.

Wildcats starter Katlyn Rivera lasted five innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on four hits. Kayla Kerr pitched two innings, allowing one run on one hit.

Allie Rich had a hit and one RBI for Clear Falls, and Amber Pufal went 2-for-3.

It was an error-filled game, with Clear Creek making four miscues and Clear Falls making three.


Goose Creek 12, Dawson 10

BAYTOWN — Goose Creek Memorial scored seven times in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past Dawson on Tuesday in District 24-4A play.

Kjirstyn Murphy had three hits with a double, homer and three RBIs for Goose Creek, and teammate Jami Garcia had two hits with a home run and drove in three.

Heaven Benavidez doubled and drove in three for Dawson. Rylee Rodriguez had two hits with a homer and two RBIs, and Amber Langston went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.


Brazoswood 9, Clear Springs 1

LEAGUE CITY — The Springs fell in a deep hole and managed to play only one run in the fifth inning in a District 24-5A loss to second-ranked Brazoswood on Tuesday.

Kayla Fielder drove in the Chargers’ sole run on a single.

Bethany Partlow and Abigail Parrish each drove in two runs for Brazoswood as the team finished with 12 hits.


Clear Lake 9, Clear Brook 3

HOUSTON — Kaitlyn Tawater homered and drove in three runs to lead Clear Lake past Clear Brook on Tuesday in District 23-5A action.

Ayanna Meyers had a hit and two RBIs for the Falcons.

Alissa Chavez doubled and had two RBIs for Clear Brook.
