Brazos 4, Hitchcock 2
HITCHCOCK – The Lady Bulldogs gave up three runs in the first inning and could never catch back up in a loss to Brazos on Friday.
Kia’Rra Williams pitched a complete game and took the loss, allowing four runs — two earned — on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts.
After the three-run first, she allowed just one run the rest of the way.
The Lady Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth inning when Cortney Sandejas reached base on an error, advanced to second on a single — the Lady Bulldogs’ only hit of the game — by Chloe Lopez, advanced to third on a groundout by Noemi Gutierrez and scored on a groundout by Roni Flemming.
They added another in the bottom of the seventh when Rose Connor led off with a walk. She advanced to second base on a Sandejas groundout and scored when the Brazos catcher dropped a third strike.
Clear Brook 4, Clear Springs 0
FRIENDSWOOD – Clear Brook scored two runs in the first inning Friday and they were enough to get the win against Clear Springs.
The Chargers mustered five hits in the game, but couldn’t score.
Dani Elder went 1-for-3 with a triple, and Mckenna Zinke went 1-for-3 with a double.
Clear Falls 9, Dickinson 0
DICKINSON – The Knights scored four runs in the top of the first inning Friday on their way to a win against the Lady Gators.
Misty Muniz got the win for Clear Falls, holding Dickinson scoreless on four hits. She walked three batters and struck out one.
Madison Michna went 2-for-4 for the Knights, Amber Pufal went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs and two runs scored, and Madison Demers, Taylor Troutt and Allie Rich each doubled. Troutt scored three runs, and Tori Hatten scored twice.
Pearland Dawson 4, Texas City 3
PEARLAND – The Lady Stings scored twice in the top of the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough as they lost to Pearland Dawson on Friday.
Dawson broke open a 1-1 game in the bottom of the sixth with three runs.
Alexis Ortiz went 2-for-4 for the Lady Stings, and Cayla Bjerke went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and scored a run.
Clear Creek 6, Clear Lake 1
LEAGUE CITY – Katlyn Rivera gave up one run on four hits in five innings of work to get the win as the Wildcats beat the Falcons on Friday.
Madison Wadyka went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run, and Brittney Wingate went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in the win. Riley Bullen went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Vanessa Gonzalez went 2-for-2 and scored twice.
