GALVESTON — The Buccaneers (4-4) rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on Tuesday to top Conroe Covenant Christian in TAPPS district play.
Cole Hardeman and Aaron Plant started the rally, each getting on base after being hit by a pitch. Matthew Freed followed with an RBI single to right field that scored Hardeman to tie the game, and Plant scored the winning run after crossing the plate on a passed ball.
Freed and Hardeman each went 2-for-3.
O’Connell starter Blake Chapman earned the complete-game win, giving up a run in the second inning and allowing five hits with 10 strikeouts.
Clear Lake 5, Clear Falls 0
LEAGUE CITY — Falcons’ starter Eric Berno shut down the Knights, giving up two hits with six strikeouts in six innings of work to lead Clear Lake to a District 24-5A win Tuesday.
Chase Lowman pitched a complete game for Clear Falls and finished without allowing an earned run. The hard-luck loser allowed only three hits and struck out 15 with four walks.
Josh Elvir doubled, and Chris Brandli had a single to account for the Knights’ two hits.
Clear Creek 5, Brazoswood 1
LEAGUE CITY — Wildcats starter Zack Esquivel shut down the Buccaneers, giving up one earned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks to earn a complete-game win over Brazoswood on Tuesday in District 24-5A action.
Harrison Hill had two hits with a double and one RBI for Clear Creek, and teammate Ben Rigby drove in a run.
Clear Springs 4, Dickinson 1
DICKINSON — Chargers starter Blake Chisolm tossed a complete game, allowing one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts to pace Clear Springs past the Gators on Tuesday in District 24-5A play.
Tyrone Thomas doubled and drove in a run for Clear Springs. Chisolm and Jacob Ramirez each had a hit and one RBI, and Tevin Dent drove in a run.
Tyler Cauley had a hit and one RBI for Dickinson.
