GALENA PARK – The Lady Indians trailed through the first six innings on Friday before busting out for three runs in the sixth inning on their way to a win against Galena Park.
Shelbi Sunseri got the win, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out 13.
At the plate, Haley Chavez went 3-for-3 with two doubles, and Hallie Phillips went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
Clear Falls 13, Clear Brook 11
FRIENDSWOOD – Clear Falls survived an 8-run second inning to beat Clear Brook on Friday in Friendswood.
That’s because the Knights scored three times in the first inning, twice in the second, third and fourth innings, and three more in the fifth.
Starting pitcher Corrie Patrick couldn’t get out of the second inning, giving up eight runs — five earned — on seven hits with one walk and no strikeouts in 11/3 innings.
Misty Muniz got the win in relief, allowing three runs on four hits while walking four and striking out four in 5 2/3 innings.
Madison Ulmer went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and scored three times, Madison Michna went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, Taylor Troutt went 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored, and Allie Rich went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
