Clear Springs 3, Clear Lake 0
The Clear Springs Chargers picked up a nice, momentum-building road win (25-16, 27-25, 25-16) ahead of the playoffs to close out the regular season Tuesday.
Player statistics for Clear Springs were not immediately available.
The fourth-place finisher in the district, the Chargers (9-5) will face District 23-6A champion Pearland Dawson in the bi-district round of the playoffs next week at a time, date and location to be determined.
Clear Brook 3, Dickinson 0
The Dickinson Lady Gators’ season came to a close Tuesday with a 22-25, 21-25, 15-25 road loss against Clear Brook.
Leaders for Dickinson included Amaya Young (11 kills), Destiny Tom (17 assists, seven digs), Destiny Hayward (eight digs) and Gabby Pugh (eight digs).
The Lady Gators finish the 2017 season with a 2-12 district record.
Santa Fe 3, Fort Bend Marshall 0
The Santa Fe Lady Indians made short work of Marshall at home Tuesday in their regular season finale, winning by the scores of 25-11, 25-9 and 25-15.
Turning in top performances for the Lady Indians were Kylie Verm (12 kills, six digs), Elena Dondonay (seven digs, four aces), Julia White (seven kills), Rachael Douglas (seven kills), Tori Smith (seven kills) and Kassidy Taves (four aces).
With the No. 2 playoff seed locked up, Santa Fe (15-1 in district) will take on a to be determined Houston ISD opponent — District 24-5A’s third-place finisher — next week at a time, date and location to be determined.
Fort Bend Elkins 3, Texas City 2
The Texas City Lady Stings put up a valiant effort at home against playoff-bound Elkins in Tuesday’s season finale, but dropped the match by the scores of 26-28, 22-25, 26-24, 25-15 and 9-15.
Leading the Lady Stings were Ashlynn Lewis with 17 kills, Macee Medina with 12 digs and Ashleigh Rivans with 11 digs.
A young Texas City team finish the 2017 season with an 8-8 district record.
