The Texas City Stings struck early and fended off a feisty Galena Park squad for a solid road win Tuesday night.

LEAGUE CITY

The Clear Creek Wildcats dismantled Clear Brook on Tuesday at Veterans Memorial Stadium on the back of a solid defense and braces by senior midfielder Kaden Lovett and senior midfielder Dylan Hinds.

The scoring started early as Lovett played a neat through ball to Hinds, who sent a low cross into the box and onto the foot of Jason Kassu. The sophomore midfielder scored with a nicely placed shot at the 3-minute mark.

Clear Creek doubled its lead only 4 minutes later, as Lovett was taken down just outside the Clear Brook penalty box and Hinds fired the free kick into an upper corner for his first of two goals in the game.

The Wildcats tallied their third goal at the 20th minute mark as senior midfielder David Perez sent in a great corner kick for senior forward Josh Rodriguez to finish with a great header.

The second half started almost as fast for Clear Creek as senior forward Steven Kasha was tackled hard inside the penalty box 5 minutes into the half. Lovett stepped up to hammer home the penalty kick for his first goal of the game and to put Creek up, 4-0.

Lovett tallied his second goal of the game in the 35th minute, as senior defender Andre Caro sent a long cross to the back post of Clear Brook’s goal where Lovett went up high to head home Clear Creek’s fifth goal.

Dylan Hines finished off the scoring 2 minutes later when he sent a beautiful shot on goal from 30 yards out to complete his brace and to put the Wildcats ahead 6-0. Clear Creek remains undefeated in District 24-6A play at 2-0-0, while Clear Brook falls to 1-1-0.
