Clear Springs 45, North Shore 28
Clear Springs charged out of the gate to a 19-7 first quarter advantage that aided the Chargers to lead 21-13 at halftime.
After the Lady Mustangs trimmed three points off their deficit in the third quarter, Clear Springs held North Shore scoreless in the fourth (12-0) to win at home Monday afternoon.
Dymond Gladney led Clear Springs with 16 points and five steals.
Taylor Singleton tallied 11 points and Destiny Broussard corralled a team-high eight rebounds for the Chargers.
Clear Springs will tangle with Westside at home 1 p.m. today.
Texas City 52, Beaumont Central 31
The Texas City Lady Stings overwhelmed Central early in Monday afternoon’s game en route to a rout in front of their home fans.
The first two quarters between the two teams looked more like a football scoring line, with Texas City winning the opening period by a touchdown (14-7) before ballooning the lead to 28-10 at halftime and then staving off Central for the remainder of the game.
Tee-Aunna Garrett led the way for the Lady Stings with 14 points.
Texas City is back on its home hardwood 7:30 p.m. next Tuesday for the District 23-5A opener against Fort Bend Marshall.
