Clear Creek 42, Houston Memorial 25
The Wildcats won the first quarter 13-7 and used strong finishes to each half that saw Clear Creek outscore Memorial 19-4 (9-2 in second quarter and 10-2 in fourth quarter) to cruise to their second win in many games.
Anna Rodriguez scored a game-high 13 points for the Wildcats.
Clear Creek will look to continue its winning ways Friday at Baytown Sterling. First tip is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Clear Springs 69, DeKaney 65
In a high-scoring affair, Dymond Gladney shined brightly by scoring a game-high 35 points to aid the Chargers to an exciting season-opening home win.
McKenna Worrell also chipped in with 10 points for Clear Springs.
Clear Springs outscored the Lady Wildcats 21-15 in the second quarter to take a 35-30 lead into the halftime locker room.
After DeKaney knotted the score up at 50-50 after three quarters, the Chargers held off the Lady Wildcats by winning the final quarter 19-15.
Clear Springs will be back in action at home Monday when the Chargers tangle with Katy Seven Lakes at 7 p.m.
Hitchcock 71, Wharton 52
The Hitchcock Lady Bulldogs blew by the Wharton Lady Tigers in the second half to record their first win of the season Tuesday night.
After a back and forth first half, Hitchcock out-scored Wharton 36-15 in the second half to pull away for the win.
Majesty Otems led the way for Hitchcock with 22 points. Irish Winn added 17 points, and Taylor Kendrick and Jimile Johnson each chipped in 12 points.
The Lady Bulldogs return to the court 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Sweeny.
La Marque 45, Baytown Lee 39
The La Marque Lady Cougars picked up a road win over Baytown Lee on Tuesday night.
Rhaven Huff and Rmani Crookshank led the way for La Marque, each scoring a team-high 11 points.
The Lady Coogs return to action 4:30 p.m. Friday at Pasadena Sam Rayburn.
