Dickinson 9, Clear Lake 1 (5 innings)
The Dickinson Lady Gators put up five runs in the fourth on its way to a 9-1 victory over Clear Lake on Tuesday.
Mia Terry, Cailyn Peterson, and Emily Garcia all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Dickinson opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run for the Lady Gators.
The Lady Gators then put up five runs in the fourth inning. Dickinson's big inning was driven by singles by Terry and Garcia and a triple by Peterson.
Marissa Vazquez took the win for Dickinson, as she allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out four. Terry threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Savanna Wise led things off on the hill for Clear Lake. She went four innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits.
The Lady Gators racked up nine hits in the game. Terry, Vazquez, and Peterson each had multiple hits for Dickinson.
The Lady Gators tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Dariane Cram led the way with four steals. Dickinson didn't commit a single error in the field. Mariana Vazquez had the most chances in the field with five.
Up next, the Lady Gators (1-1 in District 24-6A) hit the road to take on a Clear Springs (0-2) team that has had two hard-luck 1-0 losses to start 24-6A play. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday.
