Shuttle replica to be hoisted to new home today

HOUSTON — At around 8 a.m. today the shuttle replica Independence will lift off and onto its permanent home with the help of a crane.

The shuttle replica at Space Center Houston is being hoisted on top of a historic shuttle carrier aircraft and will be part of a permanent exhibit. The public can attend the lifting and setting of the Independence today.
