Our law firm has the highest peer rating available.
Q. What are the issues in this campaign? What is your platform on those issues?
A. Electing a State Senator who will be responsible to the people and not the special interests and lobbyists in Austin. We need to addresses taxes on two fronts: a) eliminating the business margins tax; and b) freezing property tax values at the current market values for 5-7 years but with the opportunity to lower the value on an annual basis if circumstances change. That way the taxpayer does not have to fight increasing values each year. On public education we need to ensure that troubled schools have qualified teachers that can stay after school to help those children that are struggling; perhaps create “small learning communities” within a high school to bring down the ratio of administratorteacherstudent; and we need to re-examine the college tuition deregulation so that tuition rates are affordable to all that are seeking higher education at our state universities.
