Veterans should be treated with compassion

    That is pitiful, and hopefully someone who is in a position to do something about it will see this letter and do so. I am sure that the VA employees were concerned about all those rowdy veterans running rampant in the hallways before the VA was ready to provide service to them. At least that's why they used to make us wait outside when I was a kid in school.[sad]

    I may be wrong, but banks do not allow customers into the lobby before the designated opening time for the same reasons: security, insurance reasons and policies.

    @66460-banks are totally different than a VA hospital/clinic. When you go to the bank, you can sit and wait in your car. A lot of the veterans rely on public transportation to get the VA clinic for one reason or another and they do have a waiting room. These men and women fought for/defended our freedoms in more ways than one and made many sacrifices that some will never fully understand, and this is how they get treated. I sure hope someone changes things for their safety.

    I wonder why they didn't just go in, once the doors were unlocked. Was someone blocking their way, to make sure they didn't get in?
