There are many reasons to vote for Craig Brown for City Council representative in District 2; for example, his continued efforts and long history of community and city service, from neighborhood involvement to service on the Parks Board and industrial development committee.

Brown voted in favor of funding to revitalize neighborhoods and city parks, plant trees on Broadway, design a city pool, rebuild Washington Park and encourage recycling at the beach parks.

We could go on about his accomplishments, but there are other reasons to vote for him this May.

Brown is our choice for his willingness to listen and understand the issues facing residents of this island. He is interested in our neighborhoods, our quality of life and is willing to do the work to ensure they are improved upon and maintained. His soft-spoken demeanor makes him very approachable, but his voice becomes firm and determined when he is on a mission to get things done.

Brown is a reasonable and intelligent man who has a great love for this island. He is planning for our future — let’s help him realize that plan. A vote for Brown on May 10 is a vote for a better Galveston.
