Dr. Victor Sierpina’s article (“Humor, laughter are essential for optimal healing environment,” Daily News, May 6) rings true. Laughter produces beneficial effects to the human brain and body, not to mention the soul.

To test laughter’s impact, try Dennis McFadden’s Laughter Yoga class at the Yoga Haven. This studio is a great community resource and McFadden, a certified laughter yoga instructor, is a hoot and a half. Building on the premise of fake it ’til you make it, soon the class is overflowing with authentic laughter and general good fun.

A half-hour of laughter yoga leaves the body and mind refreshed and exhilarated with a sense of well-being that lingers long after the class ends.
