In response to the editorial by Dave Mathews ("Bad behavior is just bad behavior," The Daily News, Oct. 10): He's exactly right in most of his comments — except this didn't originate with President Kennedy. Any historian will tell you that it has always been there in any positions that some people consider "power."

Even as some young ladies are drawn to policemen as their power figure. The main difference is that in years past it was kept hidden. In more recent times it has rightly been brought to public attention.

Perhaps these people who now can fear public exposure will reconsider using their "star power" for these nefarious actions. The statement by Mathews that it's inappropriate, maybe so — should say absolutely! And it's called sexual harassment.
