The Galveston Lions Club will hold our annual Oyster Roast fundraiser on March 29 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1912 Winnie.

Doors open at 4 p.m. and dinner is served buffet style from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner includes fried fish and oysters with all the trimmings. Drinks and desert are included for $15. Live music will be provided by Crash Boat Johnny and the Pirates. Dinner tickets can be purchased from any member or at the door.

Your attendance will help provide eye exams and glasses for the needy in Galveston. Please bring your old glasses for recycling.

Funded largely by membership dues, Lions International works to combat blindness across the globe. On the state level, clubs support vision screenings, eye glasses recycling programs, corrective procedures and the Lions Children’s Camp near Kerrville, which caters to children with physical disabilities, type 1 diabetes and cancer. If you know of a child that would like to attend this free summer camp, please contact any Lions Club Member for details.

Help us give the gift of sight!

Rodney Nelson is president of the Galveston Lions Club.
