The National Rifle Association and tea party, each dedicated to defending the U.S. Constitution, are natural partners. Overlapping membership of conservative Democrats, Republicans and minorities strengthens both, improving their ability to defeat “Republican In Name Only” Republicans and liberal Democrats in local, state and national elections.
A test of the partnership was the recall election of two Democrats, the top leaders of Colorado’s legislature. Both recalls easily succeeded despite liberals outspending the partnership eight to one. Liberals learned again tea party votes aren’t for sale.
NRA organizing skills can unite hundreds of local tea party groups into a national team for 2014.
