Dear President Trump,

Thanks for having the courage to run for president. You saved America because God elected you through American Christian voters. The Bible says God elects our leaders.

Your defender is God. Some people are against you. You really are a nice person. Negative words are meant to distract you. Quit defending yourself. Leave your cases in the hands of God. No matter what you do or say some people will never like you. When you quit defending yourself, then God kicks in. He can defend you better than you can. God knows how to protect your reputation. Trust in God, He'll fight your battles. Ignore the critics. "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalms 46:10). The most high God is your defender. "The battle is the Lord's, not yours" (II Chronicles 20:15b).

Give God the glory and thank him. Hallelujah! Right now, God's "Preparing a table before you in the presence of your enemies" (Psalms 23:5).

Promotion doesn't come from people, it comes from God. People criticized Jesus. He didn't argue with critics.

I pray for you every day.

I am 87 years old, and a Presbyterian like you.

May God bless President Trump and all elected officials, that they do His will and what is best for those who elected them. Trump has not led a righteous life but has surrounded himself with people of faith. Before you start enumerating his foibles think of your own. Many revered Bible patriarchs and saints in the Bible also were not without sin. The only one who was sinless was persecuted then executed. He then asked the Father to forgive them. And remember Jesus said. "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone ...."

Dan Freeman

And Mary heaved it.

George Croix

I'd wish for ANY President to receive God's blessings, and hope they'd make use of them. Hope....it hasn't worked out so well in past years....
It'd be a blessing. imo, if this one threw his phone away, and ignored the low rent 'resistance', and the Obama leftovers and planted malcontents, and got down to the business of the country's business...
Of course, to do that, the Congressional RINO's must unite....
I suppose I might as well wish for world peace...might get that sooner....

Steve Fouga

Yes! Rightly so. A lot of Republicans did too. It's because he's a laughingstock. A joke, the type of person people laugh at.

Steve Fouga

Well, once again, I posted in the wrong spot. This was meant as a reply to Carlos a few posts down. Haha, the laugh's on me this time.

Steve Fouga

Pray for President Pence. The Republican-led Congress will devise a way to have him installed in time to enter the 2020 campaign as the incumbent, giving Republicans a much better chance of holding the White House.

Carlos Ponce

Pence will get there in 2024 after Trump's second term. Be patient.

Steve Fouga

Hahahahahahaha! This is fake laughter. My real laughter was a lot louder!

Carlos Ponce

There is an old Earth saying, " He who laughs last, laughs best." Remember many Proglibdems laughed when Donald Trump first announced his candidacy.

Steve Fouga

Yes! Rightly so. A lot of Republicans did too. It's because he's a laughingstock. A joke, the type of person people laugh at.

George Croix

I dunno Mr. Fouga. Seems to me we got into quite a "fundamental" mess caring more about Who than what....
One things for sure, there's not gonna be a big 'no matter what he
did' cast of...characters...for Pres. Trump.
Gonna have to be satisfied with 'better than Hillary'... despite how low that bar is...I mean was...ūüôÉ

Steve Fouga

I know. It's a race to the bottom.

The Dems need to realize something: President Trump, the most unpopular president ever, at this point in his presidency, was only barely less popular than Hillary, as a candidate. If Hillary had been elected, we would be seeing almost exactly the same investigations, calls for impeachment, etc., because she has her own skeletons, and plenty of enemies. And her favorables would be godawful.

Dems see Trump's favorables at 37% and declare belated victory, but even though many Republicans and other Trump voters view him unfavorably, they would STILL vote for him over any Democrat. With all of Trump's baggage, if the election were held again, it's still a 50/50 proposition. That's how deep partisanship is and, to be fair, that's how deep the genuine philosophical divide is.

Trump won't figure in the 2020 election. It'll be Pence vs someone. Maybe Booker, maybe Harris? Easy to speculate at this point, so that's what I'm doing. [cool]

"President Trump, the most unpopular president ever..." Only if you believe in those convoluted polls. Watch the people, NOT the polls.

Jim Forsythe

The Rasmussen Reports, is the one the President has said that he likes in the past, not so much now because of his shrinking  numbers
Donald Trump would talk about his poll numbers constantly. Two years ago this month, he first surged past Jeb Bush in Republican primary polling and his success became a staple of his tweet.s and his campaign patter. Trump would bring up his poll numbers in the first few minutes of every speech, to huge cheers.
The generally conservative survey from Rasmussen Reports. Rasmussen’s numbers were always above average, in part a function of the pollsters’ reliance on likely voters, a group that tends to skew to the right.
Friday, August 04, 2017
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 39% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-nine percent (59%) disapprove.
The latest figures for Trump include 25% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 49% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -24

Steve Fouga

Carlos, I watch both the polls and the people. I can't help it, because no matter what media you access, you get both. All those 'resistance' people you and others make fun of on this forum, they're real people with real votes. Sure, Trump is wildly popular in West Virginia and Galveston County, but come on! He's an unpopular president, and deservedly so.

Carlos Ponce

Resistance numbers vs Trump Rally numbers show the common person likes what Trump is doing. Remember the "Indivisible" meeting held in May. It drew only 40. Although aimed at Weber it also reflected the Democratic Resistance to Trump. [BIG YAWN]

Carlos Ponce

" Sure, Trump is wildly popular in West Virginia and Galveston County, but come on!" What about Youngstown, Ohio? He lost that county in November 2016 but met enthusiastic crowds at a rally held there recently. And what about the voting Jamboree here he was cheered by over 30,000 Boy Scouts? They don't vote - yet.

Steve Fouga

Carlos, of course set-piece rallies are going to draw Trump supporters; that's what they're for, to soothe his ego and/or raise money. And Boy Scouts will cheer any president.

Trump is wildly unpopular, and you know it. Wildly unpopular. Historically unpopular.

Carlos Ponce

Remember, Trump did not win that County.
As to your statement "Boy Scouts will cheer any President", are the reports of them booing President Obama "Fake News"?????

Steve Fouga

Most likely, Carlos. I wouldn't believe it. Dangerous stuff, that fake news.

Jim Forsythe

Steve, these are one's I see at this time running in 2020. Who knows what will happen . Out of the Democrat's at this time, the following are the ones I see running in 2020. You may have to look some up , to know who they are. I'm sure some will drop out and some may be added as we get nearer 2020.
Kamala Harris , Kirsten Gillibrand, Catherine Cortez  Masto, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders , Amy Klobuchar , Hillary Clinton
Julian Castro , Cory Booker , Elizabeth Warren , Tim Kaine , Michelle Obama , Al Franken

The following Republican's may be running in 2020.
Nikki Haley ,Trey Gowdy ,Ted Cruz , Paul Ryan , Mike Pence , Donald Trump,  John Kasich, Marco Rubio ,Rick Perry .

2020 may be the year we see a Independent runs a campaign that has a chance. Michael Bloomberg may be the one that might be able to do it.

Steve Fouga

Nikki Haley? Hmmm. I'd love to see Haley and Kasich battle for the nomination, but I'm afraid Pence has it locked up already, unless he is badly tainted by the Russia investigation.

My favorite Dems are Harris and Booker. Funny how we're already talking 2020, just 6 months in.

George Croix

Jim, did you just write that Bloomberg is an Independent...?
Nah...can't be...these old glasses CAN'T be that messed up....
BUT, if so, is the Indian princess also an independent...six of one, etc. ..'[wink][innocent]
And Booker?
Corey Booker?
Well, yeah, anybody who'd vote for a 3rd term of ex-Pres. Obama would probably vote for some more 'fundamentalism'....[ban]

Jim Forsythe

George, he was going to run as a Independent this time.  None of the listed are  Independent except maybe  Sanders .
If you don't remember, this is a link to the story  .http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/23/politics/michael-bloomberg-president-2016/index.html

George , I just had my DNA test done to see were my family came from .
The stories I was told growing up, did not match up with the results that came back
It was not even close to being what I was told. .
I believe that Elizabeth Warren was being truthful, because she  was told something that was not true.
"Growing up, Elizabeth Warren was told by her parents and grandparents that she was of Cherokee and Delaware Native American heritage. Her brothers have confirmed this story, meaning that Warren was of the honest belief, that she is part Native American.  "

She was not the only person that believed, that they were part  Native American.
Recent demographic data reveals the extent to which Americans believe they’re part Cherokee. In 2000, the federal census reported that 729,533 Americans self-identified as Cherokee. By 2010, that number increased, with the Census Bureau reporting that 819,105 Americans claimed at least one Cherokee ancestor.

The true number is about 1/3 of the ones that believe that they are part Cherokee .
"Today, the Cherokee Nation, the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, and the Eastern Band of Cherokees comprise a combined population of 344,700."

George Croix

Not a Trump fan, but one might well cast a juandiced eye at comparisons where the unpopularity is a function largely...mainly...of media reporting and commentary...either way...for anyone...
We've devolved to letting slide people we KNOW are guilty of serious breaches of the Constitution, the law and/or policy, 'no matter what they did'....and piling on ones suspected of same...and so far that's what's been proven, suspician...
It's THE most widely orchestrated campaign to negate the results of an election in my lifetime...WAAAAY more than the 'birther' silliness.....Third Worldism at it's best...right here....
Maybe if Trump had been given a Noble for 'what he might accomplish', or had some other politically ingratiating attribute(s), the results so far would be different...imo.
If you count what has been done so far for the betterment of the people of the country, at least the ones who believe in being productive, at this point in, then the new guy is way above the replaced guy....imo again. Been a while since we had any of those 'Let me be clear' and 'Period' prefixes and suffixes to yet another bald face.
Of course, anyone who likes dependency and 'one world/no borders' dreams is HIGHLY offended by not getting that. If Trump signed a bill giving us all 10,000 bucks they'd complaign that 'the rich' shouldn't get anything.....

George Croix

AFTER they complained about my crap_y spelling....[ohmy]

Steve Fouga

"We've devolved to letting slide people we KNOW are guilty of serious breaches of the Constitution, the law and/or policy, 'no matter what they did'"

George, you can now complain about this to a Republican Prez, a Republican AG, a Republican House and a Republican Senate. I'm getting tired of the President complaining about this (I'm assuming you're implying Hillary's transgressions - emails, foundation, etc.), yet doing nothing about it. It's entirely within the president's purview. He could simply order an investigation rather than bitching about Sessions hesitance... Just sayin'. [huh]

George Croix

Mr. Fouga, espionage is a helluva transgression....
Getting away with it to date does not equate to being innocent...
Nothing can be 'simply' done by Pres. Trump....he's his own worst enemy right now...if he'd ignore the silly 'resistors' and what passes for ;journalism' and shut up and let his people run their own business unimpeded by daily stumbling blocks, then a whole lotta people might find that a stute of limitations is not going to ptotect them forever...because there isn't one....

George Croix

They might not find a stute of limitations..but maybe a statute of them....

Close enough...
