This is "not my monkey", but its disturbing to watch someone claim knowledge of someone else's motives, pegging them to extremes, when they have serious debateable concerns over actions taken by the Israeli government.

No one gets carte blanche support. Israel included. Its obvious that their actions bring up great concerns as 12 countries on the UN Security council voted for the resolution and the majority were not Muslim, and nearly all democratic. Britain, France, Russia, China, Japan, Ukraine, Angola, Egypt, Uruguay, Spain, Senegal and New Zealand.

Lets argue the real issues here of what actions motivated the UN resolution, not flippant, unsubstantiated accusations of being muslim or being anti-Israel. Both of which the writer has no real knowledge or foundation.

Not to worry, Judge Holbrook. There's a new sheriff in town and he'll clean up anti-Jewish, anti-Israel rhetoric coming from this country. We will stand by Israel while the rest of the world goes against them. Why does the rest of the world hate Israel? I believe they are appeasing and kowtowing to the radical Muslims. They don't want trouble in their countries from those radical elements. The current administration lumps all who follow Islam together, hence Obama's reluctance to use the qualifier "radical" to differentiate those elements from peace seeking Muslims.
Ask the Israelis about Obama and the majority will say he is no friend of Israel.
The Bible tells us what will eventually happen. Those who haven't read it in a while don't know what they are missing. It's the Good Book.

CUFI -Citizens United for Israel has a pledge:
"We believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

We maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

We pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors."

When the so called "Palestinian" people choose leaders other than terrorists then you will see peace. Until then they will use UN funds indoctrinate their children into a Jew hating people. Their ultimate goal is the extinction of all Jews, even those in this country.

Judge Ray Holbrook was the County Judge in Galveston County 1967 to 1995. He presided over the Galveston County Commissioner's Court. He was a Democrat at the time. His duties did include judicial duties, such as presiding over misdemeanor criminal and small civil cases, probate matters and appeals from the Justice of the Peace Court. His continuous election for over twenty years shows he was popular.

Israel continues to build settlements in the West Bank and the Golan Heights. This is in direct contradiction of what they agreed to. For a peaceful 2-state existence, don't you think that they could possibly stick to the agreement they made?

Mr. Netanyahu is a war hawk. I do not trust him. This is my own fear about trusting Israel: Israel will find a way to draw us into a war defending them, with Donald Trump as our President. The Israelis are patient. They will wait until the "right" time for them to declare war and make it look like war is our idea, not just theirs.

And when they followed their agreement, what did they get? Missile attacks, tunnels into Israel to smuggle bombs, assassins, more hatred from the so called "Palestinians". Paula, they did what they had to do to maintain their existence. You don't trust Netanyahu which is your prerogative. Do you trust the "Palestinian" leadership who call for the death of every Jew on this planet? All which is about to transpire is written in scripture. In the end, Israel wins.

If anyone should be admonished and considered disgraceful, Holbrook is the one. Always, what a narrow-minded bigot.

Considering that our Sec of State at the behest of our POTUS has Guaranteed that Iran will go nuclear in return for a 'legacy' footnote, and considering that Iran has vowed to wipe Israel off the map and considering THAT would no doubt precipitate WWIII the right time to go to war against Iran might be before they are successful, and without any talk of 'red lines' tone ignored. It's not likely to happen in the next 10 days so that'll be just another totally avoidable mess, along with ISIS and 1% GDP and a miserably divided country left in the wake of our soon to be exiting Nixon-Carter-Sharpton combination POTUS.

Trump himself I have little hope for and would not be at all surprised to see a Pres. Pence within a year but AT LEAST the Cabinet nominees look to be capable of good work beyond backside kissing and selective law enforcement.
    Here's hoping....
Still and all I don't think Obama is as low as either Clinton soatleast this time we won't need to count the silverwear and replace typewriters.
Good luck to the exiting POTUS and here's hoping you enjoy the wall you built around your new house to protect yourself while ignoring any thought of one for the rest of us.....

Georgie Anne Geyer is a conservative journalist who focuses on foreign affairs. She is a main stream protestant, a breed of intelligent Christian that seems to be vanishing from the scene. She has been everywhere, interviewed virtually every important foreign leader and has forgotten more about the real world than most of us will ever know.

If her centrist views sound extremist to most conservatives, that just shows how loony tunes they have become in the last twenty years.

Some other examples of 'conservatives' include Lincoln Chafee and Susan Collins and George W. Bush, so, who is/is not one looks to depend on what the meaning of is, is.

Been all over the world talking to leaders? So did Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, but they misread the tea leaves habitually....too. ......๐Ÿ˜‰

Anybody can call themselves "conservative. By their fruits ye shall know them. Centrist? Perhaps but with a lean to the left.
"She is a main stream protestant, a breed of intelligent Christian that seems to be vanishing from the scene. I guess you don't consider Evangelicals mainstream. That's okay because Jesus loves them.[beam]

Since time when the term "mainstream protestant" was invented in order to distinguish them from the rising evangelical, fundamentalist, and charismatic denominations, their numbers have fallen to the point where they are now a minority of all protestants.

But I think you know that I meant mainstream protestant in the historical sense. It was they who made America great. They conquered the land, drove out the savages, the Spaniards, and the Mexicans. The built our great industrial machine, freed the slaves, won the world wars, and planted our flag on the moon.

Although I was raised as a mainstream protestant, I came to realize that God is most visible when seen from a distance. If you get too close, He fades away, like the rainbow.

Sorry to hear that. Nothing wrong with mainstream Protestants. A lot of my friends are like that. But I am reminded of Revelation 3:15-16:
"I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other. So because you are lukewarm โ€” neither hot nor cold โ€” I am about to spit you out of My mouth! "
I myself am a church going Catholic whose heart is on fire for the Lord. I am close to the Lord Jesus Christ and He never will fade away.

He was only a Yellow Dog democrat. Since that time he's been a fixture in the county's republican party (which hardly existed before 2000).

I absolutely agree with that assessment. If all out war, and possibly nuclear, is going to break out somewhere in the world, it will probably be either involving North Korea, or Israel, in the next 30 years.

It probably will be a "president pence" behind the Trump throne. As long as Trumps ego is stroked, Pence will be able to get away with running it all behind the scenes.

Yellow Dog Democrat - political term applied to voters in the Southern United States who voted solely for candidates who represented the Democratic Party
Sounds like all the Democrats I know.[beam]
