Democrats in Austin have arranged for Gov. Rick Perry, a Republican, to get arrested. President Barack Obama likes to lead from behind. As the leader of the Democratic Party, he’s likely the impetus behind this political attack against Perry.

Democrats want to make it a crime for Perry to do his job as Texas governor. Perry tried to remove a drunken-driving Democrat from Texas government. Perry wanted District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, head of the state’s Public Integrity Unit, to resign because of her drunken driving conviction. She refused, so Perry defunded her unit because Lehmberg had lost all credibility to serve as head of her unit.

Democrats have timed this farce to recent events. Obama is flooding Texas with criminal illegal immigrants and he refuses to do anything about it. Gov. Perry did the right thing by calling out the National Guard to protect Texans. Protecting Texans is part of the Texas governor’s job, whether it concerns drunken-driving Democrats or criminal illegal immigrants.

Democrats will not stand for anyone defending the public. Therefore, Texas Democrats charged Perry with a crime for defending Texans. Apparently, Democrats everywhere prefer criminal activity, and Republicans are for law and order.
