"Daily News should stop bashing President Trump" HAHAHAHAHA!

Any news source worth its salt is bashing Trump, just by reporting his own actions and statements. It's almost unavoidable that if you report on Trump, you bash him. He's that outrageous.

Sure, he's done a few good things, and they've been reported too.

Carlos Ponce

Anyone who believes what you've just written is not slightly Left of center- not that's there anything wrong with that. Only uber-Leftist news sources make the claims you have made. Hardly objective.

Steve Fouga

Carlos, notice I didn't say that news sources should bash Conservatives or Republicans, I said that simply by reporting what TRUMP says and does, it amounts to bashing. He does something stupid and/or reprehensible almost every day, and that doesn't even count his actual policies, which a majority of Americans disagree with.

He is truly hated by many Americans, and considered a disappointment by many of his supporters. He'll last only until the Republican-majority Congress decides he's a liability for the midterms. You've read my prediction: If Trump is president in Nov '18, Republicans will lose both Houses. If Pence is president, they will retain both houses. Of course there's always the possibility that Pence may prove complicit in the same scandals that will eventually drag Trump down. Time will tell.

Carlos Ponce

"He is truly hated by many Americans". Not all. Many are taught NOT to hate.
"considered a disappointment by many of his supporters" How many? Not much but he has made several Hillary voters into Trump supporters by his actions, speech.

Carlos Ponce

The referenced poll is the AP-NORC Poll. Despite their claim to be independent and non-partisan their base at the University of Chicago says it all. NORC - National Opinion Research Center's clients include CNN and the New York Times.
On another AP-NORC Poll:
"A closer look at the survey finds its sample was not properly representative of the racial and economic demographic balance of young adults. Instead it focused on samples of populations which voted overwhelmingly against Donald Trump. Also, the poll was conducted by a group that is being financed by billionaire George Soros."
Question all polling especially if their demographics don't match with reality.
Liberals live in a bubble. They erroneously believe the vast majority of Americans believe as they do. So, of course, Leftist readers will accept these polls without question. Might as well just do their polling at DNC headquarters.

I'm pretty sure the same could be said about the right. Don't go thinking you're better than anyone else.

Sure you can say anything but the left is squashing free speech while the right champions free speech.

The above is me not Claudia. E G Wiley

Ms Buchtien why do assume that I might think I'm better than anyone else????

Carlos: "Liberals live in a bubble. They erroneously believe the vast majority of Americans believe as they do. So, of course, Leftist readers will accept these polls without question. Might as well just do their polling at DNC headquarters."

Your profound confirmation bias has blinded you Carlos. Trump is universally reviled around the world. Even his own people think he is a moron. The fact that you are unable to face that glaring truth taints everything you say on every subject.

Josh Butler

He is not reviled in Israel. In Iran maybe, and by that murderer in North Korea, but that's a good thing.

Emile Pope

"Liberals live in a bubble". Surveys show that the most ill informed people are Fox News viewers. That's because they only listen to Fox News and that is nothing more that right wing propaganda dressed up as news.

How many Democrat's and Independents do you think view the President as doing  a great job ,or even a OK job.
Only 23% of Americans  identifies themselves as Republicans, 30% as Democrats  and 45% as Independents
This huge support for the President is coming from what group? Or is the support for him, lacking?

But one thread does stand out as he pulls out of trade deals, provokes allies and tears up international accords -- he seems determined that no international ties will bind him.
The United States emerged as the indispensable superpower in the wake of World War II in part through its leadership in a global rules-based system of treaties and alliances.
But, as Trump made clear  in a speech to the UN General Assembly, his vision is of a world where America is just the most powerful in a network of sovereign nations.

"Trump foreign policy has found its theme: 'The Withdrawal Doctrine'," quipped Richard Haass, influential president of the Council on Foreign Relations

As Steve said , he does it to himself. When he needs their help , will they help?
Trump tweets
Can you believe that Mitch McConnell, who has screamed Repeal & Replace for 7 years, couldn't get it done. Must Repeal & Replace ObamaCare!" on August 10, 2017
John McCain never had any intention of voting for this Bill, which his Governor loves. He campaigned on Repeal & Replace. Let Arizona down! " on September 23, 2017.
Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists and people like Ms. Heyer. Such a disgusting lie. He just can't forget his election trouncing. The people of South Carolina will remember!" on August 17, 2017.
Senator @lisamurkowski of the Great State of Alaska really let the Republicans, and our country, down yesterday. Too bad!" on July 26, 2017.
Rand Paul, or whoever votes against Hcare Bill, will forever (future political campaigns) be known as 'the Republican who saved ObamaCare.'" on September 22, 2017.
"Bob Corker gave us the Iran Deal, & that's about it. We need HealthCare, we need Tax Cuts/Reform, we need people that can get the job done!" on October 8, 2017.

On a broader level, Trump has implored Republican senators to do away with the legislative filibuster in order to pass legislation and avoid electoral failure. However, this may also be a veiled attack on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Someone forgot to tell him, who is President of The Virgin Islands?
“I will tell you I left Texas and I left Florida and I left Louisiana and I went to Puerto Rico and I met with the President of the Virgin Islands,” Trump said.
He further added, “We are one nation and we all hurt together, we hope together and we heal together. The Virgin Islands and the President of the Virgin Islands, these are people that are incredible people, they suffered gravely and we're there, we're going to be there, we have really, it is not even a question of a choice."

Carlos Ponce

There you go again, Jim, quoting from biased polling. President Hillary Clinton believed in those polls. What's that? Hillary is not the president? Polls must be WRONG. Before you trust any poll, check the demographics. "Only 23% of Americans are Republican" may be true but the real question is what percent of Americans consider themselves CONSERVATIVE. I don't identify myself as a Republican. I consider myself Conservative. There's a difference.

Carlos Ponce

Since you believe in polls, Jim:
In 2009 Gallup found "40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal"
http://news.gallup.com/poll/120857/conservatives-single-largest-ideological-group.aspx
In 2014 Gallup found 38% Conservative, Liberals 24%, Independents 43%.
http://dailysignal.com/2015/01/09/new-poll-many-americans-conservative-liberal/
In 2016, Gallup found 36% Conservative, 25% Liberal.
http://news.gallup.com/poll/201152/conservative-liberal-gap-continues-narrow-tuesday.aspx
Liberals will say they are gaining ground while Conservatives are losing ground - but they're still behind.
I say look at Gallup's demographics. What did they expect when the numbers are skewed to begin with? I agree there are still more Conservatives than Liberals but the numbers are somewhat higher than reported. So I don't believe these polls either.

Jim Forsythe

"Polls must be WRONG" The polls that predicted that she would win the popular vote were right. The EC is very hard to predict , even so some polls were showing Trump winning. At the time of the election , it was considered a toss up , because of the built-in plus or minus .

This look at the 2016 elections. The total number of votes for Clinton was 65,853,516 and for Trump 62,984,825.
This was a loss of votes by Trump, to a candidate that some voted against, and not for Trump. Since the election what has he done that would increase the numbers? The numbers of people that are in his corner have gone down.
Are saying that Democrats are CONSERVATIVE and not Liberal? Maybe they are Conservative, and still are not Trump fans.
Our are you saying the Independents at 43%, love him? if not, where is his support, above what some Republican's are giving him?

Carlos Ponce

The polls and Liberals also said she would win the Electoral College. Have you forgotten the polls and Liberals all said Trump had no Electoral path to to the presidency??????

It isn’t as simple as a post-convention bounce, FiveThirtyEight polling guru Nate Silver explains l: Nate Silver’s election forecast now has Trump winning
," Silver's model, considers more than just polling in its forecast and currently predicts the popular vote going 45.4 percent to Trump vs. 45.1 percent to Clinton, with the Electoral College giving Trump 285 votes and Clinton 252.6. This is the first time the "now-cast" forecast has been projected Trump to win. now-cast FiveThirtyEight's ".
Trump trailed by around 3 points in our forecasts a week ago. Typical convention bounce is 4 points. So you end up at Trump +1 or so.
@NateSilver538

✔ Nate Silver
Silver's  model comes after a series of national polls released Monday showed Trump leading Clinton:
Trump leads by 1 percentage point in a CBS News poll, by 5 percentage points in a CNN poll, and by 4 points in this week’s edition of the Morning Consult poll. He’s also extended his lead for 4 points in the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times tracking poll, although it has generally shown good results for Trump.
Trump now leads Clinton by a slim 0.2 points in the RealClearPolitics average of polls for only the second time this campaign cycle.

An artificial intelligence system that correctly predicted the last three U.S. presidential elections puts Republican nominee Donald Trump ahead of Democrat rival Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House.
MogIA was developed by Sanjiv Rai, founder of Indian start-up Genic.ai. It takes in 20 million data points from public platforms including Google, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in the U.S. and then analyzes the information to create predictions.
The AI system was created in 2004, so it has been getting smarter all the time. It had already correctly predicted the results of the Democratic and Republican Primaries.

Just six weeks ago, Hillary Clinton's advantage in the Electoral College looked insurmountable. Now, based on the latest round of public polls, it's a different story.
If the election were held today, Donald Trump would apparently win roughly as many electoral votes as Hillary Clinton — who held a commanding lead in early August and seemed to be closing off all possible Trump routes to 270 electoral votes.

New York Times Upshot/Siena poll released Sunday is consistent with that trend: It gives Mr. Trump a four-point lead in Florida, 46 percent to 42 percent, in a four-way race. In our first poll of Florida a month ago, Mr. Trump trailed Hillary Clinton by a percentage point.

OCT.27, 2016
Saturday on Fox & Friends, Tucker Carlson sat down with a college professor with a remarkable record of predicting election outcomes.
Professor Helmut Norpoth, from Stony Brook University in New York State, has correctly predicted the outcomes of the last five presidential elections.
This year, he steadfastly believes Donald Trump will win the election.
Norpoth said he uses two "models" to make his prediction:
One is the "primary" model, where he compares a candidate's strength in their respective primaries.
"The candidate who does better in his party's primary beats the other guy who does less well," Norpoth said.
Looking at New Hampshire and South Carolina's primaries, Norpoth projected that Trump would be the general election favorite because of the strength of his showing, versus Hillary Clinton.
The second model he created is called the "swing of the pendulum" model.

 OCT.27, 2016  and 09/15/2016  is not a lot different than Nov 5
You asked for polls that had Trump winning and  I provided the dates when Trump started to overtake Clinton . After that time he did not lose ground in those polls.
now-cast FiveThirtyEight's said that Trump would win the Electoral College as early as May 25 ,2016 and did not change as who would win the Electrical College. They are not the only polls that had Trump winning the Electoral College.

Jim Forsythe

 Carlos made this statement,
"The polls and Liberals also said she would win the Electoral College. Have you forgotten the polls and Liberals all said Trump had no Electoral path to  the presidency??????" Which Is a very bold statement, that is not true. The following is my response, including a poll on  Monday, November 7 2016 ,showing Trump would win.
You asked for polls that had Trump leading, I provided them. Then you say, your dates are not as new as the one's you posted. I have provided numerous polls that did not change back to Clinton, some were within a few days of the one you provided   . I also provided now-cast FiveThirtyEight's that predicted  that Trump  would win the Electoral College on May 25 ,2016.  Most polls do not predict the Electoral College, and they did it in May, and were right.
To say  polls did not show Trump winning is not true. The election was very close, which was shown by Clinton winning the  popular vote, and Trump winning the Electoral College. Most polls use a 3 percent margin of error . This was  the amount, that most polls were off by the time the votes were counted.

Bottom line, the Liberal bible - the NYT along with others stated Trump had no Electoral path to the presidency based on state polling. Since they over poll Liberals, what did they expect? Check the demographics of each poll.

Jim Forsythe

For some reason keep refering to the NYT.
I have given you serval polls that gave the lead to Trump.
CNBC, CBS,CNN, ABC News, USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times tracking poll, A CNN/ORC national poll ,Fox News ,Saturday on Fox & Friends, TuckerCarlson ,
now-cast FiveThirtyEight's , Rasmussen, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal-NBC News, RealClearPolitics average of polls ,The Wall Street Journal-NBC News.
All of these polls are not  good enough to you, because ? If they were as Liberal as you keep saying , why would they say ,Trump was ahead or would win the Electoral Collage?

"Since they over poll Liberals",would mean that Trump was further ahead, than what they were reporting .
Over polling  could not have been true, in the polls I referred you to, that said, Trump was even or that he would win the EC .

Mark Aaron

Carlos: " I don't identify myself as a Republican. I consider myself Conservative. There's a difference."

You have repeatedly made this claim, Carlos, But it is demonstrably not true:

New York Times, Nov. 5, 2019:
_"Again, the polls are close enough that the possibility of a victory for Mr. Trump is still quite real. But it's just not clear exactly how or where he would break through. It doesn't seem that the Trump campaign knows either."_

What does my past post, have to do with polls showing Trump in the lead?

I never said by all the polls, but I also said you never know. I also said No matter who wins, they will be our President. Which means that I was not sure who would win, because the race was so close. In the end, Hillary did win the popular vote .

Jim Forsythe Oct 10, 2016 10:35am At this time it looks like Hillary will win" .
At this time it looks like Hillary will win, but you never know.. As a country we have in place three legs of the government. When one goes to far, the other two part will take care of the problem. Some think it's to slow, but it was put in place to take time and not be a now response.
Each side has taken things and blown them out of proportions. The internet and tv gives us the transgressions , try to hammer us to death with it and  then try's to get us on board with what they are selling. Last nights debate gave us nothing new as far as facts.
If a person stops and thinks why they are going to vote for a person ,some will try and say they better then the other one. What we need to look at which one is the best one for the USA.
No matter who wins, they will be our President.

The day before, encouraging everyone to watch the debate.

Carlos' relies on his bogus claim that the media/polls/you lied about Trump possibly winning before the election so he can use that to discredit all the polls showing Trump in a dumpster today. It is his go-to response anytime polls are mentioned.

Carlos Ponce

Only an IDIOT accepts poll results without checking the demographics of those polled. Trump is so far in the dumpster that he'll be re-elected in 2020.

Jim Forsythe

What is he going to run on. He's not going to have Clinton to run against. Then polls were correct when they predicted Clinton would win the Popular vote ! Some  were wrong when they predicted EC , but within the error margin. But some were right about the EC results.
Just this week , he wanted to make it a political event about calling the family of  military fallen . He made a big deal about this, but he had not even called some, until latter that day after he made a big deal of it to cover his misstep. By him calling out past Presidents, he accomplishes what?

Four gunned down in Niger and Mali .
The President is Commander In Chief, and did not have details about this until Oct 12? Why was he not informed on Oct. 4?
Did they not tell him the details about what happened on Oct. 4, when four U.S. Special Forces soldiers were gunned down at the border of Niger and Mali when it happen or was it hidden from him?
"The White House did not receive detailed information from the Defense Department about the four dead soldiers until Oct. 12, and that information was not fully verified by the White House Military Office until Monday, according to a senior White House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to comment on the internal process."

Why is he trying to blame others, is it to try and make him look better?
"Trump said in his defense that he had written personal letters to the soldiers’ family members, and he then tried to use the issue to gain a political advantage. Trump leveled false accusations at his predecessors, including former president Barack Obama, saying they never or rarely called family members of service members who were killed on their watch, when in fact they regularly did."
