Many exchange students are coming to our area from Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. They are looking for families who are interested in hosting them so that they can experience the American way of life. These are talented students: Many are good soccer players, and some sing or play a musical instrument.

There is also a group of United States grant students. These are students from the former Soviet Union, from Third World countries or from Africa. They have competed with 4,000 other students, and only 300 were chosen for this grant.

Anyone interested in being a host family for the school year or even a welcome family for the first six weeks of the semester, please contact the local coordinator of Academic Year in America, Gerri Manlove, at 713-681-6875 or gembus@earthlink.net.
