This summer has been fantastic. I’ve spent lots of time with my family traveling and going out. I also spent a lot of time with friends hanging out or just playing video games.
I participated in two educational outreach programs. This article is just a brief recognition of those beneficial programs. I was a participant in the University of Texas Medical Branch’s annual STEM Quest Summer Camp 1 for seventh and eighth grade students.
It was a wonderful experience. It was great to see science in all the different careers, and a great way to spend time with other kids my age who enjoy science.
As the summer’s end neared, I was able to sneak in another great educational program at Texas A&M University at Galveston called the Maritime Careers Camp. The program is great because it is very hands-on, academic and just plain fun. We went sailing and learned about the many career fields available on the water or associated with maritime.
I can honestly say, it is great for the programs to not be all work and no play. There was a balance of work and play. Both programs provided a great balance of learning and fun. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to participate in these programs. Thank you, UTMB and TAMUG.
