The juxtaposition of three guest columns that ran June 13th — “A moment frozen in time” by Peter Davis, “It’s Adopt a Shelter Cat Month” by Caroline Dorsett-Pate and “Data shows extreme segregation, poverty” by David Stanowski — made me stop and reflect upon the images each conjured up about Galveston and the people living here.

I know that I want to live in a community that promotes our humanity and shared compassion. I want to live where there are a lot of people like Peter Davis and Caroline Dorsett-Pate.
