I heartily agree with your endorsement of Mark Henry for county judge and Jack Roady for Galveston County district attorney. They’ve both set a new standard of excellence for Galveston County public service.
Roady especially has proved to be a terrific district attorney. He’s not afraid to take on the potential corruption of public officials and is resistant to meddling with his hiring the best and brightest for his office. He has genuine integrity. Roady appointed special prosecutors when necessary and established a Public Integrity Section in the district attorney’s office to investigate and prosecute offenses committed by public officials.
He has shown tireless efficiency in seeking justice against those who commit crimes in Galveston County. As a result, he has a higher conviction rate of criminals and lower dismissal rate than his predecessor.
Roady has made few mistakes. His detractors are the enemies of honest men, those who fear scrutiny and accountability in public office. Criminals dislike him, too, since Roady has built an effective team and has forged a new, shiny metal for the anvil of justice in our county.
As voters, we lucked out with these two. We need to re-elect them.
