I read, with interest, “Mistrial in dead dog case,” (Daily News, July 31). To recapitulate, the dog was “tangled in his tether ... without food or water ... and died of heat stroke.” Despite this story, the owner’s pastor testified the man “took good care of his dog.”

One has to hope, or perhaps even pray, that the pastor takes better care of his congregation than Deacon Lloyd Charles Baldwin did of his dog.
