I commend the fine job our Galveston Police Department officers are doing.

I almost got into an accident on the seawall as the other driver had no headlights on. I see many drivers on the seawall with no headlights and no turn signals on, which could result easily into serious crashes — possibly life threatening.

Maybe issuance of tickets would help curtail this situation.

This is common on roads that have lots of brightly lit businesses, or those that are brightly lit by street lights. Folks forget to turn their lights on. They can see, so it doesn't dawn on them sometimes that they haven't turned on their lights. Automatic lights should be mandatory on all vehicles currently in production.
