If you are cleaning out your closet, moving or just want to de-clutter, Atmosphere the Salon and Beyond is holding a sidewalk sale Saturday to benefit the Communities in Schools Galveston County Prom Dress Essay Contest.

The contest is open to female students in Ball High’s CIS program. The essay title is “My prom wish becoming reality,” and students are encouraged to write about overcoming obstacles and striving to achieve their goals in life.

Students are required to have their official high school transcripts and a copy of a letter of acceptance from a college or university.

We are accepting donations of any kind until Thursday.

Until then, you can drop off donations Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Any unsold items will be picked up by the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County Resale Store to further help our community.

If you have questions, please call the salon at 409-750-9810.
