I have lived and worked in Galveston for nearly 40 years, and I do not recall ever attending a city of Galveston Building Board of Adjustments meeting prior to the one held on Feb. 6.

Angela Brown and I appeared before the board on an issue to do with Moody Early Childhood Center.

I was impressed with the work of the volunteer Galveston citizens who comprise this board. Each member brought his own expertise in the building process to the table for the good of the community.

Whether an applicant prevailed or not, it was clear that the board was working to resolve the issue that brought that applicant to the meeting. The members, individually and collectively, were thoughtful in their deliberations and had done their homework in preparation for the meeting.

I just want to say thank you publicly to my fellow Galvestonians who serve on the BBA: Brax Easterwood, Norm Hoffman, Darian Beafneaux, Tony Scofelia, Ray Caballero, John Moreno, Pete Nanos, Paul Lopez and John McNatt.

While I don't always agree with Ms. Massey she works tirelessly for the
betterment of Galveston. That I do agree on.👍
