Tim Paulissen, League City’s mayor, went to Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Ford Mustang.
I enjoyed the story on the League City mayor and his ’69 Mustang (“League City mayor takes part in Ford Mustang’s 50th birthday party,” April 20, The Daily News).
My 1966 Mustang was purchased new at Maher Brothers Ford in Dallas by my parents when I was 12 years old. This car stayed in our family.
My late sister drove it in high school, and I drove it in both high school and college. I drove it with a ton of my friends piled in after high school football games at Kimball and sorority sisters in college.
My parents continued to drive it for a number of years then stored it until giving it to me — finally — 12 years ago.
I drive it frequently in Galveston, where I have lived for the past 37 years. Many great memories!
