In response to Sandra Jones Tetley’s guest column ("Don't throw your vote away to outsiders," The Daily News, Feb. 4): I have to take issue with a county commissioner and a state representative being touted as trustworthy and worthy of my vote because they both are members of the National Rifle Association.
Really, is this what its come to?
What does membership in this organization have to do with governing our county or state?
If this isn’t the dumbing down of America, I don’t know what is.
I’m all for gun rights, but I will vote for a candidate for public office that has qualities well beyond membership in the NRA.
