Liberals call Rush Limbaugh a hate-mongering racist. His fans know he isn’t.

Liberals hate Limbaugh because he earns more than the top four TV liberals combined.

Audience research companies tell advertisers his audience is the best educated, most informed in America, letting him auction airtime to the highest bidders.

If he were a racist, bigot or hate monger, conservatives would turn him off.

Sponsors would cut him off. He’d have no show.

What really angers liberals is he spends much of each show informing voters about news stories liberals want to hide.

Informed voters don’t vote for liberals.

Rush Limbaughs mission is educating voters. Knowledge is power.
People who don't listen to Rush don't understand what he means when he talks about "low information voters". They can be young or old, rich or poor, black or white but get all their information from the liberal media. Digesting propaganda as if it was gospel, learning nothing.
His message must be factual because thousands of liberal fact checkers try to catch him making a mistake. The liberal media couldn't survive a day being fact checked as closely.

If Rush is so smart, then you and Rush should run for President and vice. You

two would make a mean team .

Good idea mytoby! Problem is that when a Democrat runs, the Republicans consider children and grandchildren off limits. However when a Republican runs the Democrats consider them fair game. Look at how they handled Sarah Palin's daughter and grandchild and look at how they handled Mitt Romney's African - American grandson. If you have offspring would you want them treated that way?

sverige1
Lars Faltskog

Didn't the media make lots of fun of Chelsea Clinton, calling her awkward and such? Same for Amy Carter?

All politician offspring should be sat down with their parents (or significant caretaker) and be told that they will be in the limelight. Some things will be said about them that are lovely, for example, when they do a violin recital they will be watched and admired more than the average child.

But, then there will be times when their style of dressing is scrutinized, or when they reach the awkward braces on their teeth stage, acne, et cetera. Look at Jenna Bush now. She's an attractive and eloquent correspondent, and Chelsea is similarily working the media front.

It's sad that most voters are "low information voters". If Americans would take a little more time investigating candidates we probably would be in the fix we're in now.

Au contraire -
Limpbaugh's audience has always been the "rightist" paranoid fringe element, folks who do not like that our country has become more diverse.

His viewers are also "low information voters", and many of them not duly educated in the civic realm. He caters to low-level thinkers who very likely have not studied government, literature, nor philosophy. Limbaulgh also is an example of the brash and crass mindset that many Americans have aligned to, and that, of course, discourages intelligent discourse in society as a whole. He wouldn't last 5 minutes at a roundtable discussion on "Meet the Press" nor "This Week With George Stephanopholis".

His audience (many who are also low-nutrition, obese, and anti-intellectual) clap their hands at this "hero" of theirs because, as they say, "birds of a feather...."

Carlos Ponce

I am willing to bet you never sat down and really listened to his show. The fact that you refer to him as "obese" means you are just regurgitating Donkey Party talking points. He's lost a lot of weight for over a decade and has kept it off.
And he would love to take on George "Steffi" Stephanopholis.
And you must be calling me a "low information voter" since I listen to him. Well you can tell from my posts I am not.
What you hear about Rush is just like that lame Youtube post. A few seconds taken out of context. I challenge you to listen to his entire show one day before you judge him.

ole dad

carlos, wrong on all descriptive points in my case and I'll bet wrong in the case of many more of my Republican colleagues. I don't even listen to Rush Limbaugh however I have read some of his opinions and I haven't found him wavering from the truth, not once. It sounds like he's doing a good job because when the truth hurts the recipients usually revert to name calling and other emotional quirks to divert from their misery. I suggest you take some time and delve into some of his "right wing" positions and you will probably be surprised at the accuracy of his portrayal in his writings and his show.

Chris Gimenez

This is a perfect example of Servantude's "inclusiveness" party. If this was a GOP politician he'd be labeled by Servantude and the Left as racist. But since he's a democrat this behavior is quite acceptable. Kind of funny how women and Hispanics should be given special consideration except when they're Republicans.

Black conservatives are treated the worst of all by liberals. Liberal blacks are the worst.

Chris Gimenez

Once again the hate-filled Left shows how little substance they have in their party. Rush Limbaugh has the audience he has because he keeps the public informed. The low-information voters are the ones who don't have a clue about government and voted for the Entitlement Regime.

It's significant to see how poorly the Left-wing media and talk-radio programs are doing and yet they refuse to admit their only audience is one in which being uninformed and dependent are requirements. Ed Schultz, Piers Morgan, CNN-they're all going down the drain. Progressive left-wing talk programs are being swallowed up by conservative talk radio programs for one reason-that's what the public wants to hear. That's why the Regime now wants to censor talk radio if it's "not balanced".

Gary Miller

Now we know! Sverige is an expert on that which he knows nothing about.
The Limbaugh audience is as diverse as America. It may be the most American thing left in America.
Rush is more accurate than the liberal spin book or talking point catalogue.
Liberals use the same lies over and over expecting people to believe if they hear it long and loud enough.
I guess it works on some weak minds. You believe it don't you Sverige?

Chris Gimenez

This is the kind of important information being withheld by The Regime but exposed by Drudge and Rush.

Another item gleaned from Rush is the VA problem isn't Shinsecki.
It's the progressive bureaucrats who let vets die so they could get bonusses.
Isn't that the same as a death pannel?

How many of you remember Illinoise Senator B.H.Obama saying when we reach our expected age we should take a pain pill and go home to die.
Rush played the tape and liberals called playing it racism.
What would they call it if the Illinoise senator had been white.

George Croix

There's not much he has to say that anyone paying attention can't figure out for themselves, assuming they're not hopelessly 'progressive'.
That aside, I rarely listen to Rush, for no particular reason.
I don't really need anyone deciding what I think for me, and the things he points out are obvious, so much so that it takes a legion of liberals trying to spin things the OTHER direction to try to counter it/him. Trying is the operative word...
If nothing else, he serves as a constant reminder of liberal two-facedness who hold so dear the right to say whatever they want, but do all they can to silence any opposition. Very 'progressive'...

Who is Rush educating or informing? His core audience already believes that liberals are the scum of the earth, and any liberals listening aren't buying any of it. Outside of those two groups, if there are any other low-information voters not in either of those two camps, they're not going to process anything discussed, anyway. Or, even more dangerously than that is that they're just going to buy what he says, hook, line, and sinker, without considering that, even though he may be "right" in the grand scheme, there are a lot of issues where there are more than one "right" answer, and, more importantly, no one should ever just presume that someone on the radio is telling you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Regardless or what he, or anyone says, you have to wrap your brain around it, determine how much sense it makes to you, and if there's any inconsistencies, seek out more information, and make an independent decision. Regardless of how much his opinion may or may not be valued, his is just an opinion.

Carlos Ponce

Listen to his show and you'll hear the large number of listeners who stumbled onto his show or listened out of curiosity and continued listening because they liked the message. Some listened initially to discredit his views and are immediately put to the front of the line of callers. His audience is growing. The ranks come from the disillusioned youth, those seeking truth since this administration was built on a campaign of lies. They bought these lies and openly confess they voted for BO but will no longer be convinced by a slick campaign. His new audience comes from minorities who were taught by the Donkey party that Rush was Satan incarnate. But they discovered a kindred belief. His audience comes from the union rank and file who are upset with union leadership wanting them to walk in lock step to the false promises of the Democratic Party. His audience comes from those seeking jobs or a better job.
Listen to his show kevjlang and you will hear who he is educating and informing.

kevjlang
Kevin Lang

carlosrponce, you and I both know that his show remains on the air because he has a ton of listeners that just want to hear someone speaking who's words they "ditto". Nowhere did I deny that there aren't people that pick up a thing or two they didn't know, had their minds changed, and are now converts. However, that's not his "CORE" audience. Just like Sunday services, the vast majority of the ears are already tuned into the message. They just like to hear it spoken by someone else--either someone more eloquent than they, or just know that they aren't alone. But, just like Osteen's church, if Rush didn't have millions of people that are consistent recipients of his message, he might still have his "church", but it wouldn't be broadcast all over the place, and he wouldn't be a household name and sell millions of books. If Osteen had to fill his church every Sunday with people that he solely converted, his services would not be held in the former Summit. Maybe still a decent sized chapel, but certainly not a building that used to hold about 12,000 or so screaming basketball fans.

Carlos Ponce

Listen and learn my friend. All questions will be answered.

kevjlang
Kevin Lang

Well, for one thing, I'm at work during the day. For another, there are zillions of other places I can go for the same messages. I don't need to tune out of the rest of my workplace for hours a day in order to hear something that I can get on my own time in another medium. You seem to think that I'm saying that Rush Limbaugh is wrong, or that he says things that some people may need to hear. That is not what I'm saying at all. What I am saying is that he's got his spot on the airwaves because he has a large "choir" that he preaches to. As long as that "choir" continues to provide radio stations with enough listeners, and advertisers with product exposure, he's going to be on the air.

Just because my perspective doesn't "ditto" his, doesn't mean that I'm not aware of his positions or the rationale behind them. I have my own perspective, and sometimes it yields similar positions to his, sometimes somewhat different, and sometimes vastly different or even diametrically opposite.

I don't share the opinion of some that he's some kind of messiah, nor do I share the opinion of others that he's some kind of pariah. He's a person with opinion, some being his own, and some perhaps borrowed from others. Not too unlike most people. To me, his opinion is a data point. I take it for what I think it's worth.

"Discouraged" in the personal and moral sense. "Discouraged" on an individual basis, where one tells himself/herself, "Hmmmmm, I am discouraging myself from repeatedly listening to hate speech and histrionics of a grossly obese person."

Did you read the story of a middle-aged woman who wrote about her father who used to be a kind, loving, gentleman? Until he spent years watching FOX news. Now, she says he's a bitter, elderly man who is difficult to be around and is intolerant of our nation's diversity.

For 24 years Rush Limbaugh has run his Annual Rush Limbaugh Cure-a-thon
benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Limbaugh himself has personally donated a figure likely totaling in the millions of dollars ($5.7 million) to the LLS over the years. In 2012 Rush Limbaugh helped raise $3.3 million for LLS. Up to 2013, $37 million in his Cure-a-thon. 2014 has not been figured in yet. https://radiothon.org/rush/
The Children's Book Council named Limbaugh their 2014 Author of the Year for his book "Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans".
What have you done, sverige?

J. Shaffer

I wouldn't want to start a discourse with Rush on many subjects. How can we have an effective dialog about birth control when he called Sandra Fluke horrible names for suggesting that college age, adult women would want to protect themselves from unwanted pregnancy? That if they pay for insurance, that part, frequently utilized by child bearing age women, should be covered?

Can Mr. Limbaugh say he speaks for what liberals stand for when he isn't one? Does he also stand for women and minorities? I think not. If you want to know what a liberal thinks, talk to one. It's hard for conservatives, I know, as it seems dialog for them always deteriorates into name calling and shouting.

It doesn't make for great television or radio when people have an ACTUAL dialog and find out that they agree on many subjects, including the dilution of our political process by large donors and corporations that seem to buy the elections and laws they want with little regard to the needs of the people, both conservative and liberal.

The divisiveness he causes helps no one. United we stand, divided we fall. Just like the press conference in La Marque this week over racism, jumping the gun and televising problems BEFORE or INSTEAD of looking for solutions only creates more problems. It doesn't solve anything.

Carlos Ponce

Rush apologized for calling Sandra Fluke a "slut". Get over it.
Sandra Fluke was attending Georgetown University, a CATHOLIC University. The Catholic Church is opposed to contraceptives on moral grounds. Miss Fluke felt Georgetown University should be compelled to offer health care that covers contraceptive drugs, in spite of the Catholic university's moral opposition to artificial birth control. Didn't she know she was attending a Catholic University? That would be the same as insisting that a Jewish or Moslem University offer pork in their cafeterias. It goes against their beliefs and tenets. She wanted a Catholic University to offer contraceptives to unmarried students. Really? We don't believe in non-marital sex, nor contraceptives. What she does with her body is her business but she should keep the university out of her bedroom, use her own money to do her "thing".
Rush Limbaugh just offers an opinion. You can listen to him or not. Only "Thought Police" want to shut him up.

Let's see: Limbaugh is on record for mocking AIDs victims. He coined the pejorative term "feminazi", in which he named Steinem and even actress Camryn Manheim as "famous feminazis", comparing them to Hitler and Stalin. Quite the historical opposite: It was Hitler who declared abortion as a "state crime", closed family planning centers, and Hitler was at odds with feminists in Europe.

So, aside from the abovementioned historical fallacies that Limbaugh creates, he also has offended African-Americans on numerous occasions. Once he said that most composited pictures of "wanted" criminals looked like Jesse Jackson. He even told a hard-to-understand caller to "take that bone out of his nose" - in reference that he had some type of African facial costuming on while speaking. This is not "informing voters about liberals", its making a living out from shock value means.

At least Howard Stern is somewhat funnier.

Carlos Ponce

" Feminazi" was actually coined by Tom Hazlett, professor of economics at the University of California at Davis. Rush says the term describes women whose goal is to allow as many abortions as possible, saying at one point that there were fewer than 25 "true feminazis" in the U.S. Nazi actually means National Socialists. Tom Hazlett uses the term to describe any female who is intolerant of any point of view that challenges militant feminism. Rush uses it to describe women who are obsessed with perpetuating a modern-day holocaust: abortion. Hitler's Nazis forced non-Aryan women in the conquered countries to have abortions and sterilizations in order to keep their population down so check your history. He did not want Aryan German youth aborted so the "master race" would thrive but if you were non-Aryan, abortion was ordered.
As for mocking AIDS victims: Rush did AIDS updates from his "stacks of stuff" from various news sources. They searched all his transcripts and found no mockery as reported by the Left.
How does singling out Jesse Jackson offend all African-Americans? Again I think it is you stretching things here. Are you sverige saying that all African -Americans look like Jesse Jackson? Are you saying they all look alike? I hope not!
As for the nose bit there is no proof he ever said it, no sound clip, no transcript, nothing. Zero, Zip, Nada. One liberal claimed he said it and all others repeated that claim. No evidence, baseless.

Might want to watch almost any speach given by POTUS, or Harry Reid, or Most Any Hollywood Celebrity, or watch some old Occupiers footage, or maybe some film of race riots, or illegal aliens marching in US streets in protests, or gay activists, or Jackson, or Sharpton, or any of a number of perpetual grievance industry types, or And So On with the members of our nations liberal wing of citizens.....
Well, the opportunities to look at shouting and name calling are almost limitless...all over the place...but the reason there's so much of it is neither side thinks they are guilty.
My favorite of late is the attempted demonization of the Evil Koch Brothers for spending 30 mil on conservative causes, dome mainly by the Senate Majority Leader, from the floor of the Senate, yet conveniently leaving out that Soros has coughed up about 50 million or better for liberal causes, and that Steyer is pledged to spend 100 million bucks on liberal/green causes (including saying he WON'T give the bucks if Keystone is approved....kind of gives a little insight into why the latest 'until after the election' delaty by #1 on that, after only 5 years of unending studies saying it will help. not harm...).

J. Shaffer

It's well documented that RL popularized the term 'Feminazi' even if he didn't coin it. His rants against African Americans, women, Micheal J. Fox, 'phony soldiers' and 'false' global warming issues.

I haven't had a dialog with the president but I've had to excuse myself from a few conversations with people who couldn't verbalize a political or social view without name calling and disparaging me personally.

The bookshelves speak in volumes, too. (pun intended) Left wing books are about problems like unsustainable food chains, failing school systems, financial inequality and how to fix those problems. Right wing books are all about how left wing politicians are ruining everything.

"Obama, a guy who's stock in trade is the continual politics of division, re-asserted almost daily, and stoking the fires of envy and what's-in-it-for-me."

I do not see this. What I see is a large group of people (Republicans) who have vowed to make sure that any and every idea that comes from the POTUS is shot down, not because they are bad ideas but simply to spite the man.

Matt Coulson

That's Michael J. Fox, not "Micheal". All those Biblical names end in "el", short for "Elohim" a name for God in Hebrew Scripture. Names like Michael, Daniel, Ezekiel, Rachel, Emmanuel, Ishmael, Israel, Gabriel, Raphael, Samuel, etc. Also the names Kal-el and Jorel have a reference to God in them.
Yes, he popularized the term "feminazi" - a term that only applies to a handful of women. As Rush often states, he is all for "the women's movement". He does talk about certain "African-Americans" but not all. His call screener is James Golden, aka “Bo Snerdley,” an African-American who has worked with Rush for over 25 years. We all should be upset with "phony soldiers" and "Man-made Global warming was created after Global cooling did not catch on. It was created so that some could cash in on the hysteria. Just ask Al Gore who left the office of Vice -President with only $2 million but is now worth hundreds of millions through the myth of Man-Made Global Warming. Now that Man-made Global Warming has been revealed to be a hoax they have changed it to "Man-Made Climate Change". As P.T. Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute."

Carlos Ponce

Maybe somebody will write a book about how to cure the ~16% real unemployment rate, or how to cure the fact that almost 3/4 of the 'produced jobs' in the last 5 years have been low wage ones, or how to cure the fact that the 'new normal' for jobs is heading for the 29.5 hour work week because of the ACA, or how to cure your new higher insurance premiums and deductibles and lower access and get your old doctor back if you are one of the people actually paying for it, or how to cure the 'necessarily skyrocketing' energy costs as the 'greens' kill the nation's power industry, or how to cure 1/3 of people on some type of federal government 'entitlement', or how to cure a generation of liberal NEA 'teachings' that have produced functional illiterates expecting to pass or get a reward no matter how little they know or low they score, if even given grades, or how to fix 'financial inequality' that has gotten WORSE due to the policies that have made all the things that affect that worse...etc...all little issues needing cure books....
One thing not needed by the left is how to blame everything on anybody else, even when they were the only ones with power for a couple years...
No, left wing politicians have not ruined everything...but they've still got a lot of time left, and are doing the best they can to get finished...enjoy the new 'power plant emissions rules' when you get your bill in a short while...

Children without food should eat from the dumpster.. people on ss and medicare are free loaders.. women should never have been allowed to vote.. If your a brave young man serving in Iraq and someone calls you a phony soldier for supporting withdrawal of troops it would be fitting from a Viet Nam draft dodger

Carlos Ponce

PhiloBeddo, quit regurgitating Left Wing talking points. Nothing of what you wrote is from "El Rushbo". You offer accusations but no proof.

Carlos Ponce

I looked up the alleged statements Rush made about the aftermath of the Japanese tsunami and homeless. Transcripts are available. Rush NEVER said they deserved it. His "stacks of stuff" instead concentrated on a report filed by Diane Sawyer which he re-aired on his show. Instead of talking about the loss of life and property in Japan, Diane Sawyer's report concentrated on the Japanese RECYCLING in their refugee camps. Rush pointed out that emphasis was on Leftist ideals -recycling, not the loss of human life. Never a word that they deserve the tsunami or earthquake.
Here is the transcript about Jesse MacBeth, the Phony Soldier-
"Here is a Morning Update that we did recently, talking about fake soldiers. This is a story of who the left props up as heroes. They have their celebrities and one of them was Army Ranger Jesse MacBeth. Now, he was a "corporal." I say in quotes. Twenty-three years old. What made Jesse MacBeth a hero to the anti-war crowd wasn't his Purple Heart; it wasn't his being affiliated with post-traumatic stress disorder from tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. No. What made Jesse MacBeth, Army Ranger, a hero to the left was his courage, in their view, off the battlefield, without regard to consequences. He told the world the abuses he had witnessed in Iraq, American soldiers killing unarmed civilians, hundreds of men, women, even children. In one gruesome account, translated into Arabic and spread widely across the Internet, Army Ranger Jesse MacBeth describes the horrors this way: "We would burn their bodies. We would hang their bodies from the rafters in the mosque."
Now, recently, Jesse MacBeth, poster boy for the anti-war left, had his day in court. And you know what? He was sentenced to five months in jail and three years probation for falsifying a Department of Veterans Affairs claim and his Army discharge record. He was in the Army. Jesse MacBeth was in the Army, folks, briefly. Forty-four days before he washed out of boot camp. Jesse MacBeth isn't an Army Ranger, never was. He isn't a corporal, never was. He never won the Purple Heart, and he was never in combat to witness the horrors he claimed to have seen. You probably haven't even heard about this. And, if you have, you haven't heard much about it. This doesn't fit the narrative and the template in the Drive-By Media and the Democrat Party as to who is a genuine war hero. Don't look for any retractions, by the way. Not from the anti-war left, the anti-military Drive-By Media, or the Arabic websites that spread Jesse MacBeth's lies about our troops, because the truth for the left is fiction that serves their purpose. They have to lie about such atrocities because they can't find any that fit the template of the way they see the US military. In other words, for the American anti-war left, the greatest inconvenience they face is the truth."
So PhiloBeddo This liar is your "Brave young Man" who NEVER served in Iraq.Check your facts.
The fact you call Hispanics "Latinos" shows you got this from some Leftist source.

Ponce! Everything Philo wrote is indeed the kind of thing that Mr. Limbaugh cacophonically espouses. And, recycling a "leftist" ideal? LOL

His discourse simply is not good for an individual's soul. And certainly a bad example for your children and youth. Another EXAMPLE: I remember when Limpbaugh last fall was called out for mimicking "a Chinese language", then saying that it all "sounds like the same word". Hard to believe that such banality earns him millions. But, I shall be "Christian" about this and say "how good for him".

Carlos Ponce

Putting "recycling" as the emphasis of a story above the loss of human life and massive damage is leftist. I recycle but put it in proper perspective. Reminder, sverige: Rush Limbaugh is legally DEAF so the Chinese Language might sound like the same word to him. Are you ridiculing the DEAF, sverige? I thought better of you.
Everything in PhiloBeddo's diatribe is nothing but Leftist spin and has little basis in truth. Like most bad things written about Rush - take a sentence or two out of context, put a leftist spin on it and suddenly Rush is Satan Incarnate.
