Since our prescriptions were changed to Medicare Part D, some of our meds have gone up 1,000 percent from $2 or $3 to a minimum of $20. That just shows the hold the drug and insurance companies have over Congress.

On another subject, most females changing to males grow beards. I would be startled to encounter a bearded individual in the restroom.

The bill currently in the works only asks that your restroom choice match what's on your birth certificate.
"Sec. 769.001. DEFINITIONS. In this chapter:
(1) "Biological sex" means the physical condition of being male or female, which is stated on a person's birth certificate."
But if you undergo a sex change you can have your birth certificate changed.
"In order to modify sex on a birth certificate in Texas, the Department of State Health Services requires transgender individuals to present a certified court order saying the recorded sex on a birth certificate must be changed."
The bill is designed to protect women and children from voyeurs, sexual predators and attacks while using the facilities. The objection of some that it would prevent the transgendered from using the restroom reflecting their "change" is a false narrative. Just do a web search on how to legally change sex designation on your birth certificate in Texas.
"I would be startled to encounter a bearded individual in the restroom." Why stigmatize women with beards?

So busy trying to "fix" our public bathrooms, there is no time for school finance reform? Oh, that would be hard because no fear mongering with school finance! Tell me how they are going to enforce the new bathroom law? Will there be bathroom police?

Anytime the government gets involved why be surprised that the price goes up?

"That just shows the hold the drug and insurance companies have over Congress.'

????Huh????
The price for the drug(s) was low, then the only difference was a change to Medicare, then the price of the same drugs went up by a factor of 10.
How does that show that the drug manufacturer is at fault, unless you think they charge the feds x10?
Is it not remotely possible that it's just another case of the feds needing a lot more money to do the same things done by others for a lot less?
Maybe.....

On another note.....PF, ALL laws...ALL of them.... are only enforced by the authorities when the lawbreaker is caught at it, or turned in and guilt proven.
That's why personal responsibility is important to civil order wherever there is no one-to-one Police to citizen ration....which means everywhere....except maybe inside a Police station....
The only actual enforcement in probably 99% or more of laws is by the unwillingness of a person to get caught and punished, so they don't break it in the first place, or by the unwillingness of innocent bystanders/observers, to put up with the lawbreaking, and report it.
The PC nonsense about 'gender identity' and bathrooms is, imho, nothing but yet another attempt to force people to agree to accommodate the minuscule few at the expense of the very, very many...to 'redefine' decorum and good manners.....and totally unnecessary, unless all the 'identifiers' have been holding it in since birth, in anticipation of another Great Victory for the spiral into PC insanity.
Anyway, it's only an issue because the Usual Suspects cannot stand to just go along and get along quietly, but must have An Issue.

As for school finance, have they gotten control of the problem of the schools being forced to spend money of 'students' who are not even supposed to be in this country?
If not, 'reform' would be a stopgap at best...and a bigger mess than we are in now at worst...
