The Galveston Chamber of Commerce is busy gearing up to present our seventh annual Celebrating Women: Mind, Body, Spirit Conference on April 11 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center.

A day of laughter and learning, this conference has always been an excellent way for women to re-energize so they can continue to excel in their roles as mothers, wives, breadwinners and so much more.

This year’s conference promises to deliver with the most incredible lineup of speakers we’ve ever organized.

Our theme is “Super Sisters,” and everything centers on our focus of mind, body and spirit.

To enrich our minds, we’ve invited well-known entrepreneur Kendra Scott. She will talk to our women about how to turn their passion into a business, just like she did when she started her own company with just $500. Now her exquisite jewelry is sold globally.

New to the conference this year, our high-impact and interactive business breaks will help our attendees sharpen their professional skills and business savvy.

To promote wellness in our bodies, we’ve scheduled University of Texas Medical Branch doctors who are leading the way in their fields of medicine to educate us with the most cutting edge women’s health information available.

Lucia Ferrara Bettler will discuss health from the earth using herbs and essential oils. Additionally, fitness breaks will demonstrate the most exciting ways to get fit.

Style expert Roz Pactor will be helping us stay on top of the latest trends for women as she discusses style in 2014.

To renew our spirits, keynote speaker Aisha Tyler is sure to entertain and uplift. Tyler is an author, actress, comedian, activist and co-host of the popular CBS daytime talk show “The Talk.”

She is an active volunteer for Wounded Warriors, Planned Parenthood, American Red Cross, The Trust for Public Land and Doctors Without Borders.

Tyler’s latest book, “Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation,” was an immediate New York Times Best Seller.

Tyler’s talent and versatility sparked her rapid ascent in Hollywood, and her hot-streak stint at the head of E! Entertainment’s “Talk Soup” landed her firmly in the spotlight.

Critical acclaim for Tyler has been effusive. Esquire called her “sweetly wicked,” designating her one of its “Women We Love.”

The title of her presentation is “Pursuing Bravery: Embracing Risk and Fearlessness.”

On top of all this excitement, conference attendees can shop ’til they drop in our incredible vendor market featuring fashion, accessories, health products, home wares and so much more.

Following the conference, attendees can enjoy a complimentary cocktail at our Fireball happy hour as we keep the momentum going in the vendor area with multiple door prize drawings.

You don’t want to miss this event, so grab your fellow Super Sisters and purchase your tickets today.

The cost of a conference ticket includes a conference gift bag, complimentary parking, continental breakfast, delicious lunch with dessert, snacks, business breaks, fitness demonstrations, vendor market, book signings, Fireball happy hour and presentations from celebrities, entrepreneurs and world-renowned doctors.
