On Friday night, the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized a special group of individuals and businesses helping move the quickly growing community forward.

The event, called Tailgating for Business Excellence Awards & Celebration, is an annual event and each year features a lighthearted, sports-themed atmosphere.

Imagine a room full of professionals and community members wearing football jerseys or the colors of their favorite teams and you get the idea.

The League City Regional Chamber of Commerce now represents 530 members, making it one of the fastest growing in the state of Texas.

While there is no shortage of nominees, League City Mayor Pat Hallisey was named Business Professional of the Year — 2018. Hallisey’s journey, both personally and professionally, are well-known and admired from across both the League City community and throughout the region. We tip our hat to him.

The Daily News is proud to salute these important members of our community and the valuable contributions they make to our community.
