Congratulations to the Friendswood High School boys swim team, which came home with the silver medal at the state meet in Austin.

The team was seeded fourth going into the meet and exceeded expectations.

If you’re into drama, the finish was hard to beat.

The points that made the difference between silver and bronze came in the last event.

The relay team of Jack Maloy, Justin Bertelsman, Daniel Theall and Matt Wall broke the school record — for the second day in a row — in the 400-yard freestyle.

Overall, it’s the first time the boys team has made it to No. 2. Can a No. 1 finish be far away?
