I was surprised when I moved to G-Town that recycling is not required by city ordinance. Fort Worth, where I lived before moving here, has required it for years, and I assumed everyone was doing it. People are ticketed for non-compliance. A little burdensome, but I felt better knowing an attempt to be environmentally sound was being made. Fort Worth can handle so many types of recyclables that that bin was always more full than the trash bin.
