This is a common-sense alert.

The Texas Department of Public Safety announced it will increase its DWI patrols during spring break. The Houston-Galveston Area Council announced its Regional DWI Task Force will be operating during spring break.

None of this is being done in secret. So, given all those announcements that there will be many law enforcement officers on patrol, where do you think all those extra officers are going to be?

If you’re in the area for spring break, plan to have fun, but also plan to designate a driver. If you don’t think you’re going to see patrols covering the roads to Galveston Island, Kemah and the Bolivar Peninsula, you’d better stay in school a little longer.
