Are you one of 40 people in League City who care enough about the city’s history to donate $100?

If so, Ronnie Richards, president of the League City Historical Society, would love to hear from you. The historical society needs your help.

The air-conditioning went out at the One Room School House and Barn Museum.

The society needs $4,000 to pay for repairs.

The air-conditioning is needed on two fronts.

First, the society’s income, such as it is, comes from tours — and it’s hard to draw tourists in this climate without air-conditioning.

And the society also has been entrusted with papers and other artifacts that don’t do well in the heat.

The lesson’s been learned: The society board recognizes the need for a reserve fund for building repairs and maintenance.

But it still needs help now. Any amount would be welcome.
