    Arthur Conan Doyle was a physician, though he will be remembered forever as the creator of the fictional Sherlock Holmes.

    My favorite physician-author, however, is Oliver Sacks, best known for "Awakenings"
    —though one can fill a bookshelf with his wriiting.
