Poor Roberto...as we all witness the progressive liberal implosion in government (bye Conyers) the media (bye Lauer) and in the entertainment industry (bye Weinstein)....we found out the FBI ran interference for the corrupt Clinton’s ....Obama was a huge disaster on so many different fronts. You might think Roberto would be focusing his time on more substantive issues facing his own circus of clowns. Also funny how he neglects to mention WHY he calls lying Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas “. For the record.....SHE LIED and said she was part Indian for her own political gains. These are your Democrats folks!
Kelly, Roberto needs to be crowned the number 1 hypocrite and L Davied Bond number 2.
WAPO: March 21, 2016https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/03/21/the-fight-over-elizabeth-warrens-heritage-explained/"Warren claims she has Native American ancestry. She’s never substantiated her claim with documentation, saying she learned of her background from her family. Warren insists she has never sought to gain a professional advantage because of her heritage.""In late April, the Boston Herald reported that in the 1990s, Harvard Law School – where Warren began teaching in 1992 and was granted tenure in 1995 – touted the Democrat’s Native American background as part of an effort to boost its diversity hiring record.""The next week, Warren acknowledged listing herself as a minority in a directory of law professors. The directory included her on a list of minority professors from 1985 to 1996, the Boston Globe reported. Warren said she listed herself as a minority because she wanted to connect with 'people for whom native American is part of their heritage and part of their hearts'.”And that's why Trump questions Elizabeth Warren's claim to Native American ancestry. A simple DNA test which others have offered to pay for will clear things up. But Elizabeth Warren refuses. No need to wonder why. Writing Trump claimed "Warren can’t have any Native American ancestry because she doesn’t look like a Native American, i.e., she doesn’t have 'redskin,' " is not based on facts. You Liberals who worship the column Roberto writes, can you find any source where Trump says Warren doesn't have "redskin"? Roberto is entitled to his opinion but not his own facts.
Roberto writes "he has directed his bigotry toward Mexican immigrants (rapists and criminals). Only those ILLEGALS who are rapists and criminals (and there are many). Roberto and other Liberals always ignore the part where Trump says that some are GOOD people. If you are an illegal from Mexico AND you are a criminal then Trump was talking about you. Otherwise, Trump was not talking about you. ¿Entiendes, Roberto?
Yes, Mr. Trump is the master of weasel words. He knows how to communicate a message and cover his rear at the same time. I got the message, we all got the message. I think you got the message too, yet you insist on pointing to his equivocations to exonerate him from demagoguery.
Cary, Trump received more Hispanic votes than Romney. Hispanics know what he said was true. It may not be politically correct but it was TRUE.
"Adding to this insult, the ceremony was conducted under a portrait of Andrew Jackson."That portrait has been in the White House since Abraham Lincoln was president. It hung in Lincoln's office now called the Lincoln Bedroom. The Oval Office did not exist back then. For the record, Andrew Jackson adopted a Native American as his son, Lyncoya. Andrew Jackson wanted to send Lyncoya to West Point but the political climate of the time made this impossible.
I guess we can give Andy Jackson a point for adopting an Indian boy, but it would take a lot of good works to make up for the Indian Removal Act and two death marches.
No points for trying to get his adopted son into West Point?
Strom Thrumond's first child was from a Black woman. Guess that means that he wasn't racist right?
Whatever you say, Emile. When he fathered Essie Mae Washington-Williams he was a Democrat and you say Democrats cannot be racist, right?
Garbage. I never said that. And what does his party have to do with this. Sale on herrings again?
Emile: Guess that means that he wasn't racist right?Emile: Garbage. I never said that. You're funny, Emile.[beam]
Trump did bring Christmas back to the Whitehouse. There is a nativity scene for the first time in 8 years.
Not true. There has been a nativity scene in the white house every year since 1967, according to snopes.com. I wonder what happened before that.
Diane "Similar claims have been made nearly every year since President Obama took office. However, a Nativity scene has been on display at the White House during every year of Obama’s term. In fact, the White House Crèche has been displayed in the East Room during the holiday season every year since 1967:""The centerpiece of the room is the annual tradition of The White House Crèche. The nativity scene, made of terra cotta and intricately carved wood, was fashioned in Naples, Italy in the eighteenth century. Donated to the White House in the 1960s, this piece has sat in the East Room for the holidays for more than 45 years, spanning nine administrations."

The reason Jackson's adopted Lyncoya ,was Jackson in command when Lynoya's mother was killed by his troops. lyncoya died when he was 17 without a headstone or marker.
Why would one think Jackson was a friend to Native American's? Jackson was President in office when the initial "Trail of Tears" took place. The Choctaws were forced to move to Indian Territory following coerced treaties, and they moved in three waves, from 1831-1833. Of the 15,000 that were relocated, over 2,500 died along the way of disease, exposure and starvation. These waves were the original Trail of Tears, and Jackson was the President in charge of the human rights disaster.
Why are people upset about portrait of President Andrew Jackson being in the photograph? When did the portrait first appear? It was first hung in the Oval Office in January!"Trump made the comment as he stood near a portrait of President Andrew Jackson, which he hung in the Oval Office in January. Trump admires Jackson's populism. But Jackson is an unpopular figure in Indian Country because his policies led to the forced removal of American Indians out of their southern homelands."
What did the vice chairman of the Indian Affairs committee, think of the comments by the President, at a time the code talkers were being honored?"New Mexico Sen. Tom Udall, vice chairman of the Indian Affairs committee, added: "Donald Trump's latest racist joke -- during Native American Heritage Month no less — demeaned the contributions that the Code Talkers and countless other Native American patriots and citizens have made to our great country."
Why is the President, trying to make Pocahontas derogatory term?Pocahontas is a well-known historical figure who bridged her own Pamunkey Tribe in present-day Virginia with the British in the 1600s. But the National Congress of American Indians says Mr. Trump wrongly has flipped the name into a derogatory term, and the comment drew swift criticism from American Indians and politicians.
Excellent article, Roberto. Next week take up the Republican/Trump tax "reform" bill. That one is a hum-dinger!
Paula, I suggest you take the time to evaluate Roberto's column. For each statement place FACT or OPINION or FALSE beside it. The problem is when Roberto leaves out key elements from his statements they are misleading. Classify these as neither fact nor opinion.Example: "Last Monday, President Trump invited members of the Navajo nation to commemorate their military service as “code talkers” during World War II." FACT"Trump told the gathered veterans that Congress had a member who was called “Pocahontas,” a cheap political jab directed at U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren even though she hadn’t criticized him regarding this ceremony." The phrase "a cheap political jab" makes this an OPINION."But the manner in which Trump used it was a racial slur as it was intended to denigrate, not compliment, Warren." OPINION"The president and his enablers claim Warren can’t have any Native American ancestry because she doesn’t look like a Native American, i.e., she doesn’t have 'redskin'." False since it is misleading. While Trump questions her claim to Native American ancestry there is no proof he said she did not have"redskin". So NEITHER or FALSE STATEMENT.If you are honest with your evaluation you will find some facts, mostly opinion, several false statements and some which are mixed.
