Helen loved to take care of others as demonstrated by her work with hospice and serving as an ombudsman for numerous nursing homes.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Mildred Medley, her husband of 48 years A.C. Barnett, and brothers Thorton, Leo and John Medley.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Michael Barnett (Carol) and daughter Carole Barnett. Grandchildren Amanda Allen, A.C. (Andy) Barnett, Justin, Travis and Taylor Thompson, Kelsie and Kyrbie Barnett, Great Grandchildren Meredith and Mattie McBeth and Faith and McCoy Barnett, brothers Carl Jr and James Medley (Debbe), Sisters-in-Law Lawanda, Babs, and Becky Medley, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the TCISD Foundation for the Future to create a scholarship for students pursuing a career in nursing.
