HOUSTON—Roland Deyon, Jr., 69, departed this life on Friday, November 3, 2017, at Cornerstone Hospital of Bellaire in Houston, TX.

“Jap”, as he was affectionately known, was born November 29, 1947 to Roland, Sr. and Myrtle Deyon in Galveston, TX. He was a 1967 graduate of Central High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he enjoyed a long career as a Military Police.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Bradford L., Sr. and Aaron M. Deyon, Sr.

Left with loving thoughts and cherished memories are his devoted children, Alicia Mouton (Dave), Roland Deyon, III (Tammy), Rev. Kevin Sanders, Sr. (Connie), Courtnay Dawn Holiday (Adrian), and Russell Deyon (Christina); 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Deyon; great-aunt, Annie Mae Tolliver; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law; brother-in-law; family members.

A visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017, followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Kevin Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Houston National Cemetery on Monday, November 13, 2017.
