Helen passed away on October 8, 2017. On sept 12, 1930 in Bunkie Louisiana a beautiful baby girl was born to the union of Willie and Rosalee Ausberry; they named her Helen. Helen was reared in Galveston, TX and attended public school.

She is survived by her daughter Doreen (Anthony) Jones, her sister Rose Sewell, 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great-grand, 24 Great-Great Grand, 4 Great Great Great Grand, host of Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bernard Josey, parents, siblings; Rosetta Washington, Ethel Lacey, Cleveland Ausberry, Andrew Osberry, daughter Audrey Redo and son Frank Eaton.

She was baptized at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Where she was also a Lady of Jericho. Helen would later become a faithful member of the former St. Paul united Methodist serving as the financial secretary, usher board and choir member.

Her degrees include license and practicing cosmetologist (Franklins Beauty School), unit clerk certification-Lamar University, medical assistance degree-College Of the Mainland, teacher certification- Galveston College, and business management -Texas School of Business. After 30 plus years of employment, Helen retired from GISD where she was a dedicated preschool teacher at Early Learning Center.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Wynn Funeral Home. Viewing will start at 1:00 p.m. with services will follow at 2:00 p.m.
