Dorothy May Creighton Vollert, 90, of Galveston TX, died peacefully in her sleep on January 9, 2018 at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Creighton and Eva Petitfils, sisters Lois Wells, Fay Preddy and son Creighton Vollert.

May was born and raised in Port Arthur, TX where she attended Lamar University and continued her education at UTMB nursing school in Galveston. She practiced for many years as an Obstetric nurse and finished her career in Psychiatric nursing. She had many friends and was active playing cards, golfing and attending bible study group. She also loved to shop and give gifts to all whom she cared for.

May is survived by her husband, Frank Joseph Vollert, who currently resides in Highland Village, TX; sister, Eva Bourgeois; son, Matt Vollert and wife, Deborah; daughter, Marianne and husband John McAuley; and grandson, Connor McAuley.

Plans for a service will be announced at a later date.
