Galveston—Felipe (Phillip, JAP) Garcia, Jr., age 54, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Jennie Sealy Hospital. He was born on October 3, 1962 in Galveston, Texas.

Phillip was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers fan. He named his dogs Romo and Kobe. He played for the La Familia Softball Team. He never owned a car, and he rode his bicycle all over the Island, especially to the store to buy his Lotto tickets.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John L. and Consuelo Molina; father Felipe Garcia, Sr.; aunt Eva Martinez; and uncles Phillip and Tony Ovalle.

He is survived by his mother Theresa Ovalle, Felipe Ramirez; brothers Rudy Villarreal and partner Eddie Domingue, Manuel Garcia and wife Penny Albinus; nephew Manuel Garcia Jr; 3 great-nieces Mina Ray, Aaleah Katrina and Mona Lisa Garcia, along with numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. Those who wish to make online condolences, please go to www.jlevyfuneralhome.com.
