Georgia Mae Milina was born in Vinton, Louisiana on Sept. 25, 1928. She has been a long time resident of Galveston and many will remember her as “Miss Georgia”. She lived life to the fullest, loved socializing and didn’t know a stranger. “I’m from the swamp”, she would tell you as she referred to her birthplace. She enjoyed dancing at B. Jiggers, playing shuffle board at the Lazy Oaks, and shopping at every thrift store on the island.

Georgia Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Al George Milina Sr., her daughters Patriska “Trish” Thistrup and Mary Kathleen Rhodes, grandsons, Al George “Allen” Milina and Bryan Eugene Ralston.

Georgia Mae is survived by her children, Winona Marie Ralston and Ruben of Topeka, Madaeline Sue Smith and Sam of Galveston, and son Al George Milina Jr. and Cindy of LaMarque. 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren.

We will celebrate her life at 10am on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church, 7021 Ave P 1/2, in Galveston with reception to follow.
