Clothilde Goings Morse, 87, passed away in the Copperas Hollow Nursing Home in Caldwell, Texas on Monday, February 12, 2018.

A graveside service will be held at the Hollywood Cemetery in Houston, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas preceding the graveside service.

Clothilde was born August 29, 1930 to Clyde and Hazel Goings in Roseland, Louisiana. Her family moved to Galveston, Texas in 1941, and she was baptized at Broadway Baptist Church as a young child and graduated from Ball High School in 1948. Clothilde was united in marriage with Dan Otis Morse on June 17, 1949 and moved to Houston, Texas in 1955, where they raised three sons. She was a longtime member of Garden Oaks Baptist Church and served as President of the Garden Oaks Elementary School PTA. Clothilde also served as a Cub Scouts Den Mother and was actively involved with the Oaks’ Dads Club in Houston where her sons played little league baseball.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan Morse; her parents, Clyde and Hazel Goings; and her brother, Clyde, Jr. who died shortly after birth.

Clothilde is survived by her sister, Iris Snipes of Galveston, Texas; three sons, Steve Morse & his wife Pam of Lexington, Texas; Mike Morse & his wife Gloria of New Braunfels, Texas; Doug Morse & his wife Claire of Cypress, Texas. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with another one on the way and various nieces and nephews who lovingly called her “Aunt Sissy.”
