Bruce Edward Simpson was born January 12, 1958 to C. D. and Hazel Freeman Simpson in Galveston, Texas. He was attended Ball High School and graduated in 1978.

He served in the United States Army for eight years. Bruce was blessed with a very high IQ. He developed an excellent writing interpretation skill. So much so he assisted people with resolving day to day issues, conflicts, and legal matters that required a written explanation or reply. His passion was fine dressing and dancing. Bruce loved spending time with his family and friends.

He met the love of his life, Opal Rusk the rest is history…

Bruce is preceded in death by his father C. D. Simpson and brother, Dwight Simpson.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted companion Opal Rusk; his mother, Hazel Simpson, one sister, Linda Simpson Miles; brothers, Warnock Freeman Sr., Larry Simpson, Rev. Clifton Simpson (Janice), Karl Simpson (Linda), Nelson Simpson (Rabia) and Sherman Simpson (Dena); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, February 10, at St. John Baptist Church, 2917 Sealy, Galveston TX. Viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. Funeral service immediately to follow at 1:00 p.m.
